Aerovenator Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Today I got stuck in M03, when my Wingman was tasked with destroying the tank (after the gundish task and I had no GBUs left). His first GBU-12 hit and he was tasked to re-attack. But instead the wingman ist just circling. The mission then is completely stuck. baltic_dragon Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Hey @Aerovenator I had this reported before twice, and in both cases it was something on user's end. Please check the following list (especially if you have any mods installed). These days many things installed on user's PC can break the AI behavior for some reason: The No.1 Rule with DCS Campaigns... If you have ANY mod that is NOT purchased from the DCS Store, it will probably cause issues. SRS and OpenKneeboard(Mostly VR users) seem to be ok, as we test these missions using both. Make sure to remove any and all mods before flying campaigns. (Check out OVGME, I use it daily and it works well) If you have no mods, or if removing all mods still does not fix the issue, take the following steps(Test after each step): 1) Delete fxo and metashaders2 folders in your saved games. Can get gummed up with old files. 2) Rename you DCS Saved Games folder, run DCS and let it create a new one. Close DCS and then just copy the Config folder from the old to the new so you don't lose your bindings and also copy your logbook.lua from saved games mission editor folder, that way you don't lose campaign progress. (Some mods can write to places like your scripts folder in your saved games location as an example. Also seems to help sometimes even if you never run mods at all) 3) Do a full deep repair of DCS to clear up any unwanted stuff in your main game folder. Some settings to check: 1) If you have easy comms enabled, disable it. 2) Under Gameplay options, make sure the tick box on the bottom right for "No force from mission, use mine" is NOT ticked. 3) Try disabling TacView under special options. It can cause issues, usually performance, that can lead to bugs if your cores are overloaded/too busy and it misses a trigger point due to that. For more information, please visit my website. Aerovenator Posted September 2 Author Posted September 2 I tried it again, I think it might be a targeting issue. Last time when I attacked the wrong tank with my last GBU. Could it be possible that that tank was the target for the re-attack? My assumption is based on the radio calls: 1. Loki asks Devil22 to attack 2. Loki calls "good Hits" after the attack and tasks Devil22 to re-attack an instantly states again "Good Hits" 3. Devil22 complys then to re-attack (but never executes When the mission executed correctly, I deliberately attack the wrong target (this time the BMP and not a tank) and it worked flawlessly I7-9700K -- 32GB RAM -- RTX 4070 -- Virpil T-50CM3 Throttle + WarBRD Base -- Thrustmaster TPR -- Quest 3
baltic_dragon Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Hm, this is interesting. I'll have a look and will try to get to the bottom of this. In principle yes - if you miss your assigned target, then wingman will be tasked with taking it out. But I am not clear about the procedure, it should look like this: 1) You are tasked with attacking the lead APC, your wingman attacks the trailing one (simultaneously) 2) If you hit a wrong vehicle or don't hit anything you are tasked with attacking again. 3) If you miss again, then Devil 22 is tasked with destroying it. 4) Then you are told to attack the Gundish. If you fail, you are told to reattack. If you can't or miss again then the wingman takes care of the gun dish. 5) When gun dish is killed, you receive another target - tanks. But the campaign checks how many ordnance each of you have left and assigns targets according to the count (you first, then your wingman until he runs out). Which brings me to a question: did you alter your or wingman's loadout for the mission? 6) Then when you are both out of GBUs, there is a tasking to attack the trucks (it is always Devil 22 that gets this task). @Aerovenator can you look at the list above and tell me how your mission flows in relation to it? That will help me troubleshoot the problem. For more information, please visit my website. Aerovenator Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Hi, I achieved everything till point 5. So I had a GBU-12 left and I attacked the wrong tank. The script declared me as Remington and Devil22 is tasked. He took out the first tank with a GBU-12 (Loki acknowledged the hit) and is then tasked to re-attack but instantly Loki confirmed Good Hits, although Devil22 did not re-attack. He still had one GBU-12 under his wing and circles on his waiting position. I didn't make any changes to loadouts or anything like that.
