I've set myself up a live firing range mission at the NTTR. What I'm looking for is an elegant solution to have the L118 Arty fire Illumination rounds as long as I'm in the AO or have them activated/deactivated per radio item.

What I've done so far is to activate the unit per 'Inside Zone' trigger and gave them a 'fire at point' mission with illumination munitions. Which doesn't work to well as I have to give them the fire order via the f10 map to get them shelling.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I'd rather call in a Strike Eagle...

Is the Fire at Point within Max and outside of the Min range?

Have you waited the 3 minutes aiming time required by artillery units?

Have you considered spawning illumination flares in a trigger zone instead while the L118 is just there for "dummy" purposes?

Can you upload your mission?

In deed, just don't have a clue how to. That was my first way I tried to get it done - just didn't work at all

You can just create a radio menu in F10 radio menu to command them fire when you need it.

You acctually need to raise a flag and set the units to fire on some point when the flag is raised. Then you need a timer which will remove the flag or set it to zero. So you can raise it again from the radio menu when needed.

This is what I've set up yet but I know it sucks this way. I'll try to activate the task via radio...

Inside the "Advanced point actions" you have a "Condition" and "Stop condition". You can set that the condittion to start fire at point is when some flag is raised. And you can create an additionall radio menu F10, so when you pess it it will raise the flag. Then you need a "Stop condition" when the same flag is set to "0" for example. And in triggers menu you need to check if the Flag number 100 for example is set to "1" set it to "0" after lets say 30 seconds or 60 seconds or whatever else. But you need to set the timer as a repetitive action. Otherwise it wil set the flag to zero only once.

This condition list requires all units that are mentioned in there to be in the zone all at the same time or else the condition is not fullfilled and the action will not be triggered.

Add some "OR"s inbetween each line in order to let the action triggered if any of the units is in the zone.

Once- if unit in zone - illumination flare or something like that.

Don't forget to add "OR" inbetween conditions.
