TED Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I recently picked up a new moza ab9 base and the mh16 stick and I have to say I’m really impressed with it. It is a huge improvement to general immersion and feeling. I honestly could not go back to using a traditional base again. I am trying to use some different grips and picked up the vpforce rhino winwing adapter and the vkb adapter. Both connect ok. The vkb is the simplest as you still use the black box, so all buttons are controlled through vkb software. However using this solution I lose the ability to control mechanical trimming of the base as well as force trim release, which is a bit of a non-starter for me. With the winwing, it connects ok however the ww16 stick selection in moza cockpit does not work at all. If I select another grip from the dropdown it does work! So I select the Virgil alpha grip and it will sense some of the buttons but not all. Very weird. Has anyone managed to use a winwing grip on the ab9 and get full functionality of all the buttons?

Why did you not use the MH16 stick? If you fly helos, is there a profile that simulates a cyclic? Yes, there is 1 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
TED Posted September 20 Author Posted September 20 (edited) I want to add an extension and already have a winwing stick with extension, so would save having to buy the moza z-axis one. I do have the mh16 and it works great so I may just use a warthog extension if that works. Edited September 20 by TED 1
TED Posted September 20 Author Posted September 20 (edited) Has anyone tried using an mh16 grip with a warthog extension or virpil and the cables used for a them? This would be an ideal solution as well, as I could use the mh16. Unfortunately seems like moza doesn't sell any kind of cables themselves. The virpil extension with cable is only 25 Euros and seems pretty decent. If it works might be even worth buying the curved version. Edited September 20 by TED

It's easy make at home if you got rudimentary skills.EDIT: So yes, any TM compatible extension/cable should work fine with the grip. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
Mr_sukebe Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Ref extensions, I tried a 20cm Virpil, and preferred it without 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

I'm just gonna go for 10cm. Basically I need to mount the base a bit lower so it fors better with my NLR rig and add a little more precision for rotary stuff.

No problem for me 4
MAXsenna Posted September 22 Posted September 22 @joso Sweet! How long is from the top of the mounting on the base and the bottom of the grip?Is it comfortable when deflecting in any direction, and are your legs in the way? Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

È comodo da usare in qualsiasi direzione e le gambe non danno fastidio? Grazie! From the base to the base of the handle, including the adapter, it measures 63.5 cm. To use it, I reduced the Moza's axes to 60% to avoid leg problems. 1

You're trying to set a record or something? Thanks for the last picture, it illustrates it very well. Very cool! I did mean the height, not the whole pipe. It looks like 30cm, maybe 40cm? I'm asking because I might do something like that when I'm back in the game. Cheers! 1

nessuno0505 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Just bought a AB9 base, that's my solution. P.S. is there a profile for the UH-1H so that the force trim works as IRL? 2

nessuno0505 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago It arrived yesterday. I've mounted it on my simpit (I had to saw a pole with the Dremel), configured (it seems to work and telemetry is recognized), set DCS (all my stick inputs have to be reassigned since I come from the non-ffb warthog base and the warthog grip on the moza base is a new device for DCS). In all this, I just had time to test with the a-10c2 and it seems to work, but I can not give opinions yet, still too early. The helicopters are the main reason I bought it. Unfortunately, of the 3 helos I own (ka-50-3, uh-1h and mi-8) in the moza software there's a default profile only for the mi-8 (and for the mi-24 I do not own), so I had to download custom profiles shared on the Moza discord. I hope force trim works, since it's the main reason of my purchase (I've also added the damper on my pedals to have a more realistic rotor wing experience). I'll let you know as soon as I try. 1
