YeTi82 Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) Prior to the 19 Sept patch my secondary monitors were fine forwarding RWRs / HSI / DED / etc Since the patch ONLY the Left and Right mfds still work. Any suggestions on why or help fixing? I stopped using Helios a while back to get more performance FPS wise. The LUA I have been using is attached. Thanks Yeti1.lua Edited September 21 by YeTi82
MadKreator Posted September 22 Posted September 22 If you still had the Helios Patches applied, or you had modified those specific files manually to export, then the update would have returned them to their original, non-exportable format. Either re-install the Helios patches or re-do your modifications to those files, since they aren’t exportable natively by ED. 1 Intel i7 13700k, ASUS rog strix z790A, 64gigs G.Skill Trident DDR5 @6400Mhz, Nvidia RTX 4080FE, 4TB, 2x 2TB, 1TB Samsung NVME, 1TB Samsung SSD, Corsair RM1000x, Corsair Titan 360 X AIO cooler, Lian Li LanCool 2, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate, VKB Custom STECS , MFG Crosswinds, Moza FFB, Virpil Collective, Track IR5, 48” LG UltraGear OLED & HP 24” touchscreen for Helios,49” Samsung Ultrawide, Streamdeck XL, Corsair Virtuoso RGB Headphones
Scott-S6 Posted Saturday at 06:07 AM Posted Saturday at 06:07 AM To make this process easier after each update I keep a test file with a list of my exports. For each I record the file path so I can just paste it into explorer and the text I need to paste into it so that I don't need to remember the export names. Takes a few minutes to re-edit them all.

You can safely comment out the Helios line in the export.lua and the exports will be fine after Helios installs the patches. Helios doesn't do any exports by itself, (except for custom instruments), while it's very handy to write the files for you. Any reason you just don't make a mod and apply it after each update with a mod manager? A much quicker and easier process. Seconds instead of minutes. I have all the modules and have exports even for modules that don't really have them, like the MB-339, I couldn't be bothered to edit all those files. Cheers!

Yes, the mod managers replace the whole file so if the file has been changed as part of the update they undo that update. I want to insert text into the file not roll it back. I actually have a tool that automates this but it has no interface - I enquired on here if anyone was interested (in which case I would have made it more usable) but no one was interested so I didn't. Fair enough, and a good point. And that's also why I prefer to have Helios do it for me. Seems i missed that post, because I would've assumed many more would like that tool, if one doesn't use or won't rely on Helios. I would have definitely been interested. Cheers!
