Terzi Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Hello, When I try a pop-up attack if there is an obstacle between me and the target during ingress for the attack, I cannot see the distance to target but the distance to the obstacle on the HUD lower right corner in CCRP mode. How can I overcome this issue? Is this a bug? Can I see the 'B' range (slant range) to target instead of 'F' range which shows the target to obstacle in front of me. Terzi Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Okay I think I have found a workaround: 1 - Choose a STPT that is far away from you and make sure the range is showing 'B'. 2 - Set your AG radar off by choosing OVRD. 3 - Set your desired STPT and perform the attack. If you skip step 1 and you OVRD your AG radar while in 'F' units, your range will get stuck to a constant value and will never change no matter which STPT you cycle to. I think this is a bug now. darkman222 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I reported that the F16 switches to radar ranging when a mountain is blocking line of sight to the target area measuring the radar distance (F) to the hill thats in between instead of measuring the distance to the waypoint (B). You can work around if you make a mark point for the target, then use this steerpoint while looking down to the HSI to see the real distance to target to coordinate your pop up. HSI does not switch the ranging method. My report was marked as "investigating" and disappeared quietly over time. If you want to make another report feel free to do so, together with track replay.
