M07 - Switch to marshall message sticks

After getting orders to RTB, you are asked to switch to marshall on PRI. The usuall graphic/message about using F10/Spacabar/R/I to confirm only says F10 and remains after switching channel and pressing space. Looks like the new nice logic with joystick bind does not work in this mission. This also seem to mess up the Kiss-off logic.

Another thing. I my first try Pshyco dived into the ocean after laying out the smoke. I used voice attack (but no mods) so I tried again without and she did not crash this time. First time I have had an issue with VA in any campaigns. A bit unfortunate as VA is nearly mandatory for me in VR and motion rig.

@Hillman yeah, unfortunately VA as well as VAICOM make the AI stupid somehow and using any 3rd party mods is strongly discouraged while playing them... the only thing I know is not causing any issues is the VR Kneeboard

Are you using any addons like VAICOM with VoiceAttack? Even if you don't use it but have it installed for some reason?

VoiceAttack in itself cannot possibly do anything to DCS, as it has no clue about it and doesn't install or alter anything DCS related neither in the Saved Games folders or DCS Core folders. It's basically a keyboard macro pusher. But if VAICOM was added at some point, you might need to remove VAICOM from VoiceAttack, disable plugins in VoiceAttack and perform a full repair of DCS.

It's really strange to be honest, as I personally have never had any issues with any campaigns, paid or not, and use VoiceAttack/VAICOM all the time.

I have been using Vaicom previously, but that was on an older PC. So now there should be no ref to Vaicom.

I have never had problems with VoiceAttack before this campaign and I don't see why it should interfere in any way.

I do however see that VA gets delayed by DCS from time to time. When I press the PTT button it seems do be qued somewhere before VA react. Happens 2-3% of the time. Very strange and a bit frustrating.

Oh, you're using VA for the radio? Well, that's why I use VAICOM. I don't think VA works well for the radio.

What I do, (when not using VAICOM) is using mapping my trim hat for browsing the radio menu. It's in the drop down for the modules in the Controls Settings, in its own category, like UI Layer. Called Communication Menu or something. You can map the hat for up/down/select/back and it only works when the menu is open, and works for trimming when the meny is closed. Then I open it by mapping a button to open the meny with the corresponding PTT button, not "\"obviously. This way I don't lose any buttons for mapping. In a way it works like the George/Petrovich interface mappings.

No, I guess I was a bit unclear. I have a separate button as a VoiceAttack PTT button. I typically use VA for things like "Cockpit" (F1), "External" (F2), "Salute" (??), "Escape" (Esc) etc. As I'm using a motion rig I can't use a keyboard easily. I have a trackball fixed to the rig which works well. So for radio I'm stuck with the menues using the trackball (or voice saying "F-one" etc). The key-bond trick is nice, something I will try as well if I can find some free buttons somewhere
I was actually using Vaicom before it was made open-source, but gave it up because it did no work well with the modules I used. I'm planning to start using it again once I get VA it self to work consistently. Unfortunately many times the VA PTT keypress don't register until several seconds later, which is very anoying. I have tried to run as Admin, setting High CPU priority, used different buttons etc.

Well, that's the beauty of it. You DON'T need any extra free buttons. Use a hat. The hat will only browse the menu when the menu is open. Use a trim hat, it will be trim hat when menu is closed, while browse the menu when the menu is open. Just like the George/Petrovich interface. It's one of those features that sneaks into DCS without being mentioned in the changelogs. Been there for years now.

Have it another go. It gets better and better and is under active development. You can even stop the Windows Speech Recognition and use AI now, thanks to the guys from Whisper Attack. Still needs VoiceAttack.

Right, so this is the actual issue. Have you testet with other apps than DCS? Are you using VA 2.0? If I were you, I'd hop into the VA Discord. They can be very helpful!

No, I only use DCS on this machine, but could try IL2 or some other.
I upgraded to v2 in hope of solving this, but no. I also asked on the Discord, but the opinion was that it was a problem with DCS.

Not sure exactly when this problem started... I used VA for a long time without any issues earlier. Might be when I switched to Pimax Crystal VR, but unsure...
