In the video I'm holding constant back pressure on the stick - the movement you see is not mine. I haven't touched any AP/Damper settings, so why is the plane doing this?

Go to external view while it is happening, and you can see why 😊

Thanks.

Thinking about it some more the 'bucking' is more to do with my joystick not being physically connected with the virtual aircraft. I guess FFB sticks might circumvent this; assuming they were powerful enough.

I had to make a different profile especially for MiG-29 as this behaviour would rip the stick out of my hands: it is that violent. So I see the exact same thing you do (as per your video above) even though my physical stick and the virtual stick are indeed connected.

I had always heard the real MiG-29 has very strong stick forces so it's not a surprise that my Rhino needed some toning down, or the overheat-protection would turn on even while doing simple free flights and landing practice 🙂

If only people flew the FC version of the plane, there would be like 95% less questions

I've been familiar with the behaviour of the Mig-29 since the super-sexy FM was introduced to the FC3 version, but I always thought the 'bucking' was simply down to an aircraft blessed with an excess of nose authority getting caught in a series of mini-stalls. It was only when I looked down yesterday and saw what the stick was doing that there was another ingredient.

It’s also why a FF and FC level modelling of the very same aircraft can still feel very different even though they both use PFM: the impact of FF system modelling is not to be underestimated 😊
