MiG-29A oscillations without using autopilot, map-specific?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I recently installed the Afghanistan map (gorgeous map by the way!!) and I noticed that the MiG-29A (full-fidelity) has these random oscillations when flying around. This happens without using the autopilot. When flying on other maps (Persian Gulf, Sinai, Syria) I have not experienced this issue, I'm not entirely sure if it is map-specific, but perhaps. In the track file you should be able to see the Fulcrum randomly oscillating once or twice in the pitch axis a number of times. During landing this also happened at lower speeds. Hope this helps!

Forgive my horrible landing, I was checking if my stick was properly connected to my PC and was totally distracted, haha!

It's already reported. Quite a few posts about it. Patch incoming, maybe you're lucky and it's fixed.

Cheers!

Oh? I must have missed those, then. And I also never encountered non-AP related pitch oscillations that were not caused by turbulence. I have done pretty much all of my test flights on the Afghanistan map, and never noticed anything like that.

A tweak will be included on todays October 2025 patch, please test after and report back.

thank you

Unfortunately the issue is still present after today's patch. The patch notes state that the autopilot-induced oscillations have been tweaked, but this issue exists without using the autopilot, as early as 30 seconds after takeoff. The above track file is a short five-minute flight where up to five quick oscillations take place, all without autopilot. I'd appreciate if the devs can take another look!

Besides, thanks for the great patch today!  😄

the Oscillation issue was tweaked but it is work in progress still, so there will be more adjustments in a future patch.

thank you

Yes, there is improvement but for longer flights you still can't turn on altitude hold: there are sine-wave pitch oscillations between +4 and -2G.
For a short while attitude hold works though, so there's that 🙂
