lester Posted Wednesday at 03:55 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:55 PM Just wanted to ask are over-wing vapor effects for the module going to be tuned more? I know they depend on multiple parameters (atmospheric conditions, AoA etc), but in my uneducated opinion are a bit over the top in the simulator right now. I don't see them appear in the RIAT 2015 demo flight videos in that much degree for example: 3 Все написанное выше является моим оценочным суждением Everything written above reflects my personal opinion Занимаюсь "активной пропагандой Американцев на данном форуме" © Flanker
BarTzi Posted Wednesday at 04:10 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:10 PM Those effects are not tied to current weather conditions in DCS, so they will be just as intense at any given time. 1
Dragon1-1 Posted Wednesday at 04:22 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:22 PM (edited) They really need to be tied to humidity and temperature. You're not going to see that vapor in Nevada or Iraq, there's simply nothing to condense. We've already got temperature affecting contrails. Edited Wednesday at 04:22 PM by Dragon1-1 3
lester Posted Wednesday at 08:15 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 08:15 PM (edited) Then maybe it's worth making them less intense while they are not tied to humidity and temperature yet? Looks somewhat artificial IMO especially with the other fighters in the background. Lixma 06 Posted Wednesday at 09:28 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:28 PM They are way over the top currently - compare the FF '29 to the FC '29 - the FC '29 nails it, and mirrors what you'll see in videos. By comparison the FF '29 looks like it's re-entering the atmosphere during mild turns. But, it's early access - it'll all get tuned. 1

Yeah, I just wanted to get confirmation that it will be tuned further. Wags mentioned in the comments to the Fulcrum intro video that vapor effects need to be improved, but also referenced to what Heatblur did as the "ideal" end state and I'm a bit worried. Quote Still needs improvement. HB did a fantastic job with theirs.
