Limaro Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Hi, I’ve started a new video series where I show the effects of most graphics settings in DCS World — both visually and in terms of performance. In this first test, I made six different setups on the Syria map — daytime at 08:00 with scattered clouds. This video shows the first scenario: an AI-controlled F-15 heading toward Beirut at 30,000 feet. At the end of the video, you’ll see images from the other five screenshots, which I plan to turn into videos next. Feel free to share your feedback — let me know if you find this useful. Also, check the video description for details, and don’t hesitate to send me your suggestions. HansPeter1981 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Great work, looking forward to the low level flat angle scenery you hinted at the end of your video. The impact of different settings will be much more meaningful. 1 1 My System specs: Cpu 5800x3d liquid cooled GPU 7900XTX Ram 64GB 3600mhz cl16 Motherboard B550M MSI, Windows 10 PRO on NVMe Drive, DCS on its own SSD, Monitor Philips 32" 4k curved adaptive Sync framerate capped at 59fps, Trackir 5, VKB

For that session I move from option to option slowly and pointing out the differences. 1 Windows 11 Pro 64Bit - AMD Ryzen 9800X3D - RTX 5080 - 96 DDR6000 GB RAM VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle, VPC WarBRD Base, VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Grip
Art-J Posted Saturday at 07:53 AM Posted Saturday at 07:53 AM Must've been quite a bit of time to do all these. Thanks very much for the effort I've hit a performace "unplayability" wall with Corsair and Marianas WWII on my aging hardware. Will take a look at your test results to see if I can try to improve things a bit without sacrificing too much eyecandy. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Also must have been a lot of work especially since some options require a restart. Huge respect for all the work. Should you ever find the motivation to do another one, try a heavily forested area in a long mountain valley, low angled sun which should give you long shadows, try to be in a hover so you get downwash and all the grass and clutter to populate. Currently I am still processing the second session, next one is getting published today (Here you can see all the upcoming images of that session) Thanks for you input! I was thinking of a similar setup, the last time I flew over germany. The low hovering is a nice idea, I will definively do that! What direction of the sun did you think of (relativ to observer)? The next map I thought about using marianas, no vally but many trees (maybe WWII edition). There are so many factors I'd like to include, I dont know where to continue Windows 11 Pro 64Bit - AMD Ryzen 9800X3D - RTX 5080 - 96 DDR6000 GB RAM VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle, VPC WarBRD Base, VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Grip
HansPeter1981 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Maybe 45° from behind, looking straight forward you should see your own shadow + everything else i.e trees, grass, buildings casting shadows. Aslo having a module with targetingpod or shvkal being turned on + mirrors in the field of view will show you the effect of "ckockpit resolution"...
