VanVogt Posted November 5 Posted November 5 (edited) So what started as a simple "let's get rid of the annoying bright red underside of the Supercarrier hull" turned into a full fledged repaint rabbit hole... I'd say I'm about a 1/3rd done. There are some limitations with the way the carriers are textured (especially the deck) but it's showing good promise. My goal is to create a period correct HST for the 2003-2005 cruises, so it can be used relatively believably with Tomcats. I chose the 75 because it is the closest looking configuration for that period of all 4 SuperCarriers. There are some inaccuracies of course but it's close enough overall. This might take a while to completion as there's a fair bit of work involved but if some of you are interested in beta testing the progress, just drop me a dm. Edited November 5 by VanVogt typos 7 1

I asked because it won’t look as dark for those who use the default industry standard 2.2 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 25H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON
VanVogt Posted November 6 Author Posted November 6 Ah I see! Thanks for the tip. I'll do the next ones with 2.2. Here's a quick Modelviewer screenshot for reference. null
VanVogt Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 (edited) Here's a quick update. - New deck base texture with the heavy stucco-like pattern. This covers the whole deck - New Tiedowns. Normal map redone so they would look more realistic. - Jet Blast Deflectors are done, with the unique deep red floor that's period correct. I've lightened up the deck for better overall visibility in varying conditions. Edited November 13 by VanVogt Added default comparison images 6
fagulha Posted Friday at 09:59 AM Posted Friday at 09:59 AM Looks awesome! Thank you for your work. I'm eager to try this liverie. I use different deck liveries and for some time no one made more deck liveries so this will be most welcome! VanVogt Posted Friday at 05:11 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:11 PM (edited) Thanks fagulha! Here's a quick screenshot of progress. I've reworked the Island material to a painted metal appearance, glass shader is redone, markings corrected, and a bit of extra.. the NS60 Tilly as it looked back then and the VAW-126 E-2C #600. JCofDI Posted Friday at 05:24 PM Posted Friday at 05:24 PM Fantastic! The island glass has been a pain point for screenshots in the past for me but I didn't even think about that potentially being improved through liveries!
