Don't know if this is intended behaviour or not - If you jump in to the engineer's seat the collective clutch (F) automatically re-engages, and as a result the altitude channel of the autopilot also switches off. When you jump back into the pilot's seat you have to remember to again release the collective clutch before the altitude AP becomes available.
