Somu Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) I dont know if it is bug or not but in single player mission editor all the planes player and ai aircraft are taking off landing only one side of the runway for example runway 4.Even planes which are parked very near of the other runway. (İn calm no windy weather or windy weather) Edited 20 hours ago by Somu
razo+r Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Which airport? In real life it depends on multiple factors, such as prefered runway for ops, for noise abatement reasons, or obstacles in the departure route restricting departure on a specific runway or even prohibit departure.
Somu Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago I tried most of the airports of syria caucaus persian gulf maps with jets and ww2 planes same results

Runway change based on wind in DCS only happens if no obstacles are in the departure area and wind speed is above like 3-4 knots.
Czar Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago To add to razor+r post above. Remember the wind settings are layered in 4 while only the bottom and the top 2 are editable. If the airport is high enough, the second or third layer above the sea level wind speed will affect it instead. They often point at different directions by the mission maker or weather templates. Keep in mind that on Syria's and Jordan inland airports in the Syria map. They are higher than they look to be.

(İn calm no windy weather or windy weather) All of the above is correct, but I think your question is more simple: assuming no wind etc they always use the same runway. THAT is because all airports in DCS are assigned a default runway and unless there is a condition which will override that (i.e. significant wind from a different direction) it will always use that. This is probably similar to IRL as airports would typically have an "active" runway and even if you're sitting next to the other end of the runway 10 seconds of taxi away and it'll take you 10 minutes of taxiing to get to the active, you're going to have to taxi 10 mins to get to the active. They aren't going to let you takeoff backwards to everyone else for safety reasons. Edited 14 hours ago by rob10
