Guest ruggbutt Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 On a lesser note: Ruggbutt, check the proper grammatical use of the word "nor". You just earned a Preddy. Sweet! My first one.
Skywall23 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 People are angry, GG. Simmers do tend to get a bit passionate about their sims. Flying the 15, and flying predominantly online, I see many more bugs in 1.1 than I saw in 1.02. But 1.0 was patched for 1.02 unlike 1.1 that wasnt even patched to 1.11. I don't know why you would expect people who spent their money on FC only to see degraded performance to sit still and calmly take it. And I dont know why you would expect people who spent days and hard work on software to see themselves flamed by their own costumers. Remeber: ED is a small software house. They are not any Electronic Arts. 1.1 went through beta testing and was released with terrible problems. Yes, terrible. ARH missles that disregard any guidance and attack friendly aircraft is a terrible problem. HOJ locks and launches that give warnings when they shouldn't is a terrible problem. Maddog launches that don't give any warnings at all are a terrible problem. Radar that still stops scanning for no apparent reason is a terrible problem. Friendly ships that shoot down planes on their own side is still a problem. Obviously you dont know how beta testing works. Last I heared some of their bugs that were reported were put in a priority list. Since ED still works with a publisher, which is 1C, they had to release a western version, equal to the eastern version to prevent incompability problems during online play. And since 1C commands, they didnt authorize any more testing and probably wanted FC to come out. Im not blaming 1C for the bugs, yet we have to understand that they gave 5~6 extra months for ED to correct the bugs. ED is obviously not perfect and its resources are low. They did their best and worked hard to get 1.1 out with almost no bugs. Unfortuntantly they couldnt do it, and the least we should do is SUPPORT them not flame them. Of course you may do this: forget that FC was released and wait for a patch. Some of those bugs, and I could have named more, are not new. They are the things that we expected to be fixed in 1.1. It's what we paid our money for. The FF bug is better than it was, but it's still there. The only bug that's gone that matters to me is the Maverick/Track bug. The net code has more problems than 1.02. AI is improved, but it's still as dumb as sled tracks. You pay for add-on only due to its bug corrections? (That unfortunately werent solved in 1.1) I can understand that, but with a new aircraft new problems have arrisen that obscured the ones that already existed. This isnt a patch its an add-on. I know you yourself have problems with LOMAC. You choose to deal with them differently than others. The way I see it, the devs are here. They need to hear from their customers what they hate along with the things they love about their product. In clear language. Five page rants and flamewars solve nothing. It may help to vent one's frustrations, but in the end, it's just repetition. The mods have been good about not letting things get out of hand but you can expect more angry posts about 1.1 because it was released with so many problems. Agree, but I think your squadmate disobeyed the forum rules. Something must have happened...
Skywall23 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Many thanks Han! Regards Last I heared the add-on downlooad version will be avaiable tomorrow... ;)
Guest ruggbutt Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 I'm dealing w/several hundred beta testers for our mod, Obsidian Edge. I've found that there are a small group of dedicated testers that find just about everything that's broken, and the rest just stumble across them as they don't attempt to "break" the product. Having been part of several beta tests in the past I've found this to be true in all instances that I've been privy to. Some people just aren't good beta testers. Stuff gets missed. Some of the best beta testers we have are in my squad, they purposely think outside of the box and look to do things differently and to try all avenues. ED has been good about their patches, so I'm confident that they'll fix these issues.
S77th-GOYA Posted May 11, 2005 Author Posted May 11, 2005 This one is minor compared to some of the other one's, but the target box is nowhere near the locked target. This happened two engagements in a row tonight.
Han Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Internet sales will be restored in few days. CD sales will start in a week. Few short fixes will be in few days. General patch will be in June. With Best Regards! Daniel Tuseyev Il-2: Battle of Stalingrad and Rise Of Flight projects manager

Han Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Two notes: - AIM-120 no RWR/SPO warning when launched in MadDog is not confirming. I think that when it's happen the missile is out of SPO/RWR scan angles - CAC OLS->RLS no warning not confirmed. There is no warning if OLS and RLS is tracking target together (it is right, in real radar is only range target wery discrete, one short pulse in 2-5 sec). If OLS will lost target (T symbol will off) than target will recieve lock warning (if you're in target's SPO/RWR scan angle). 1 With Best Regards! Kula66 Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Very minor ... ff you are in the cockpit on the runway, look at your shadow. Now raise the canopy ... the shadow doesn't change. Yet in external view it does. Why do things (like the runway) look bigger from external chase view than from the cockpit?
Boozig Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Great news... So will this fix be included in the CD release as well? I am waiting for the cd to ship and was wondering if once installed I will need to download the patches for it, which is no problem. Thanks. Boozig

Boozig No, CD will not be pathed becourse the CD version was forvarded to factory a long time ago (several weeks). Also, we'll upload all pathes for both versions. With Best Regards! Boozig Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Thanks Han. So from what you said above, the patch will be uploaded on your site so we can download it for both the downloaded version of 1.1 and the cd version of 1.1. Thanks again. Boozig
D-Scythe Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Just wondering - will the patch do anything to increase missile effectiveness? It's not really a bug, but even at full missile slider, it takes like 3 or 4 shots to destroy an AI airplane.
GGTharos Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I think teh first patch will address some major issues like possibly clients dropping off and multiplayer stutter etc. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
oxking Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Right now in Multiplayer: Ive landed my MIG29C, refuel and rearm on the runway, start again, then 30 sec. in the air a beeping noise apeard, like the one you get when you landing. But that f**kin noise goes on and on, and went me nearly crazy! Shift + N dont worked. My Gear and Flaps was in. I sowed down above 500 kmh, and put them out and in again, but the beeping noise was still there..... Greetings, OxKing from Germany
S77th-GOYA Posted May 13, 2005 Author Posted May 13, 2005 I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, and at this point, I'm too lazy to look through all these pages. ;) When joining a server, a lot of people are spawning in tower view. The workaround is to eject and recover. It seems to happen every time with a server that has been up for a while. It's not new, but it is much more frequent now.
oxking Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 yeah, its a shame this bug is also present in 1.1 again.... Greetings, OxKing from Germany
Guest Cali Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I think teh first patch will address some major issues like possibly clients dropping off and multiplayer stutter etc. I think the multiplayer stutter should be the number 1 on the list.
coldcrew Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 make the refueling faster or make it a sticky. It's must faster to just eject and get a new plane than to sit there holding ctrl-r for 5 minutes. Also an ingame weapon change after landing would be great, even if it's just selecting from a list of predefined loadouts. And how about a mission info key to read while in the game? That would be nice.
