Hi all. Is there a better way, other than the ME or briefing screen to get the wind data to input into the TOLD? The ME and briefing screen use meters per second, and I can never remember if the headings in the ME are the direction the wind is blowing to, or blowing from. I know it's backward somewhere. Thanks!!

When you double the wind speed given in meters per second, that's roughly the wind speed in knots. So 5 m/s is roughly 10 knots.

And yeah, DCS likes to give it as "wind to", where the western world prefers "wind from". However, the briefing will give you both, with "Meteo" being the "wind from"; here's an example:

 At GRND 2 m/s, 82° Meteo 262°
At 2000m 6 m/s, 115° Meteo 295°
At 8000m 9 m/s, 124° Meteo 304°

So translated, that gives us (with an additional layer at 2000 ft which is always twice as strong as the one at 0 feet):

At 0 ft: 4 knots from 262°
At 2,000 ft: 8 knots from 262°
At 6,000 ft: 12 knots from 295°
At 24,000 ft: 18 knots from 304°

I'm not aware of other reliable sources for the current wind within a DCS mission. However, there are tools that, for example, send an ATIS over a given frequency and update it according to the data set in the mission, allowing players to tune into it for added immersion. But that's tied to airfields and doesn't say anything about winds at altitude.

So, long story short, the data from the briefing is usually your best bet.
