Hi

Does the auto-pilot change the trimmer on the su-25t? It seems to me it does, or i have some serious joystick issues. Can't find anything in the manual about it, and since there is no reset trimmer on the ac it's hard to check

There are three green lights in the center of the cockpit panel, at the bottom - I'm sure they are mentioned in the manual - they reflect the state of trim. If you need to recenter - just use the lights.

Yes, AP moves the controls into position with hydraulic trim.

When u set AP it changes trim position to get desired heading, alt and V up\down speed. If you want to "reset" trim set or ALT-3 mode ("recovering" mode) or set 1 mode and disable whatever submode under 1 key. I mean do not choose NAV, RTB on LDG mode, but set none. Then press A key and it will stabilize plane to height level. It is not true reset trim but good position so later maneuvers after when trim was used heaivly.

to over ride the trim on the SU-25T is alt-~ tild key press and hold. reset trim does not work for the SU-25, SU-25T. Go here for some SU25 video's training.

That override's the autopilot, not the trim. Why don't the trim axiis work? You have to just use the buttons? I try moving the trim manually with the keyboard and I never get it back to making the lights green again on the su-25T. Huge annoyance. The worst is trying to move the controls with autopilot when you forget to disengage or turn on temporary override and the AP puts full trim in the opposite direction. Then you're pretty much screwed. With all these issues on the su-25T, I'd rather simply not use the AP at all at this point.

Then don't! There is no issue- it's YOU. The trim axis in the lockon\input\axis settings have NEVER worked- they have always required button mapping to a HAT via your sticks' profiling software. (or use of the keyboard, I suppose) They cannot be assigned to a rotary, either.

There is no "trim reset/cancel" for the SU25's- just like the real aircraft. The closest thing you will find to this is setting your AP to:

.. ATT & ALT hold mode ALT+2

.. Transition to level flight ALT+3

Then canceling all modes when the aircraft is flying straight and level.

When on manual control- Real aircraft require constant trimming based on airspeed, payload balance, and a number of other things- all are modeled on this aircraft.

Sounds like YOU need more practice. Forgetting procedures, lousy profiles, not knowing the status of your aircraft or the commands are your issues.

Best thing to learn the autopilot on the Su-25T is to learn trimming in the Su-25. This one doesn't have an autopilot, so once you've learned how to keep a trimmed aircraft, you won't really need the autopilot in the 25T.

I know I was struggling with the AP in the 25T, but once I mastered the vanilla 25, the 25T became so much easier to fly.

Why can't the trims be axiis with the Su-25T? Most combat aircraft do not have axiis you just twirl on a knob, but rather use a hat. Yet many high quality sims, even X-Plane and Lock-On, give you that option. Why not allow that on the Su-25T? Otherwise, you might as well remove the axiis option from the other aircraft, since they don't have them either and it's certainly redundant having both axiis assigned AND a hat dedicated to trim. ED ought to make up its mind: do they want to allow us trim axiis as a convenience, or not. The whole "realism" argument is moot.

Wrong again, there Brittanica. Civil aircraft may often have a knob- combat aircraft almost universally have a HAT switch prominently located right on the face of the stick.

And why can't Pigs Fly?

Because they're not made that Way! Same with the RL T-Toad. No Trim Axis in RL so no Trim Axis in LockOn FC.
