I have calibrated my CH products (FS, Throttle, PP) using the CH manager. I have attached axis's to specific functions in Black Shark and BS recognizes the assignments.

However, since the BS patch, I have had trouble controlling BS. I reassigned the controllers after the patch. The RCTRL+Enter command gives you a graphic display of your controllers in the game and it now seems that none of the controllers are properly centered in the graphic. I was wondering if the game (which does not have its own calibration routine) may be looking at the windows game controller calibration numbers and not the CH calibration. I know you are not supposed to use the windows version for CH products but I am at a loss as to what to do next. I could swear that before the patch, the graphic showed that the controllers were centered.

It was hard enough flying the BS before the patch, and now with this issue, it is impossible. Any thoughts?:helpsmilie:

RCTRL-ENTER does not show the position of your joystick, but the positioning of the simulated controls!

While that doesn't make any difference on the first look, if you remember that trimming means the stick will be centered in that location in RL, it means that the diamond-shaped icon will also move and become sticky at the "new center", while your joystick without force-feedback will return to it's normal zero-zero-position. Both controls should not be confused.

While I understand your answer and stand corrected, that unfortunely does not help me control BS. I have tried everything else and BS just seems to move on its own in sim mode. I am close to giving up. Thanks for the quick explanation.

Are you sure you have mapped the controls to the simulation mode and not just to the game mode? Since the game differentiates between the two this is a common mistake.

It is a bit hard to read from your post, but are you aware of the the trim system of the helicopter works? There are several posts on this topic throughout the forum and it is also a common cause for trouble in the beginning.

Is it possible that your problem comes from the new trimming? In 1.0 the trimming was done by giving you a second delay to recenter your controls. As default after patching, after pushing the trim-button you have to move your non-force-feedback-joystick within 5% of it's center in both directions and at the same time move the rudders within 10% if the centerposition.

If you do not recenter both controls, the BS will indeed have a mind of it's own, as controls will not be reactivated after trimming.

I recommend you go into the options and disable the new trimming mode (right-lower corner).

I am not sure that it is the trim button that is causing the graphic not to show centering. However, tonight I will fire up the game (figuratively) and the graphic should show all the controllers being centered if I have not touched the trim button yet. Correct?

I never used that display much, to be honest, but I guess there will be a difference wether you start with your helo from cold-start, from runway or inflight. Each situation probably has it's own trim active.

Ok. I tested the calibration against the controller graphic at the very start of the game and everything was centered properly. This means it is me that is causing the helo to constantly crash (damn). I have 2 questions. In the options menu for controllers, their is a new button at the bottom labeled "axis assign". what does that do? Second, in the controller graphic, a "B" appears and that seems to be for the wheel brake. However, when I release the brake and play around with the Shift B, a skinny triangle goes up and down. what is that?

shift+b is to make sure the brakes are locked in place, similar to a handbrake in a car.

Also their is a bar that goes up and down to simulate brake pressure.

As for your previous problem which I think you have figured out, to test you could of always centered your trim so that the ctrl+enter graphic will re-centre the controls, you can do that inflight if need be but be prepared to fight the helicopter if you do it whilst going fast or even going slow, when i say slow i mean more than 20kph, as the nose of the helo will usually rise quickly and a possible bank to the right, but resetting the trim will reset that graphic for you and let you see exactly what you controls are doing, also as previously stated, the graphic controls position wont show the proper position for non forcefeedback joysticks, so it isnt really a calibration feature.

If you had a forcefeedback joystick, what the graphic shows your controls to be positioned at, thats where they would be in real life.

Axis assign should have been there before, but I've not checked my assignments much since the patch. You can assign functions to axis on your stick, throttle or rudders with that option.

To the initial question: In the options-screen you can revert to the old trimming-method. I recommend that, if you don't like the new one, but you should give it some tests. It needs some getting used to, though.
