leroy1964 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I have been very busy lately but have only just got back to playing DCS BS, and I don't know what I have done but the letters on the main menu are all stuffed up, very hard to read. What would have caused this, ie... mi((^ion and other like cam{(:in etc. Anyone know if this is a lanuage issue? Cheers me:smilewink:
nemises Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 hrm...not sure sorry mate, but I'd say the quikest way to resolve would be to un/re-install the app... doesn't take long
dburne Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Are you by chance running Vista? If so, try right clicking on the dcs.exe file in the bin/stable folder, click on the compatiblity tab, and put a checkmark in " disable desktop composition". You might also put a check to " disable visual themes" as well. Click on apply, and see if that makes any difference in how your menu in BS is displayed. Panzertard Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Sounds to me like you've may have patched up incorrectly - or modified some of your files manually using other tools than the Notepad++. 1. You've patched the game with the wrong patch, either wrong language version (only english version available atm, while you have a another language version?) - or that you may have downloaded the "hotfix" instead of the full 1.0.1a? 2. You've used mods/filechanges that have changed the content of some of the files - which again affects the output in the menus. Reinstall / repatch - and without having any mods while performing the install and update - should fix it ... The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

Thanks for the advice, I have not done any 'modding' as I do not know how, this became a problem prior to applying new patch, I think I download the full 1.0.1a, how would I know, are you able to link download of full patch just in case I didn't. I would really love to get this fixed, seems like a mix up with lanuage I think, but other than that I am totally lost. Cheers:thumbup:
leroy1964 Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 fixed Well, you won't believe this, I updated my video drivers to 9.9 (ATI) and started game and text on menus is all fixed, go figure eh? Thanks to all that replied. If I had not paid so much money for this ATI card, I may have gone Nvidia (seems like less issues) Cheers all
