Fish Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Hi all. To hand off targets to the wingman, I designate/lock with the shkval, then commit the target to memory. Then switch off the shkval, then select the target from the data link control panel, and pass it to the chosen wingman. Works fine. Wondering if there a way to do it and keep the shKval illuminating the same area, because once i switch it off, i gotta set all the stuff up again, find the target area etc. I'm sure its just something im mission, because it would be a bit pointless (and time consuming) if the pilot had to completely setup again for finding a target after handing on off. Nate--IRL-- Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I seem to manage sending targets without turning off the Shkval. But then I'm probably not using the correct procedure. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Fish Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 I seem to manage sending targets without turning off the Shkval.......... Nate Hmm. I only seem to get the target icon 'flashing' after i have turned it off. I can then cycle through them. Then I transfer the one I want. Will try it again though. nemises Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 hmm...well, technically you do have to "reset" to send a datalnik target, but , as in a previous thread, YMMV. Luckily, you can! After you have stored the target, reset , sent the target via Datalink do the following from a fresh reset: -Press the target type button untill the one you want is flashing -Press the "Ingress" button (it should highlight) -Uncage the Shkval The Shkval will now automagically slew to the stored target location. Death from above ensues
