jerom1992 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Maybe some of you would be interested in building such a thing

JG14_Smil Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 does not match the screen at all... there are much better examples.
Pogo Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 It is an interesting concept though, instead of moving the whole platform, the cockpit is gimbal mounted with the motion being controlled by a pulley and cable arrangement. I think that the lack of responsiveness is probably due to a combination of software and the windshield wiper motors he is using to power the cable system. C6_Hellfrog Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 look at that page if you are interested on the motion subject : http://www.rogerdodger.net/motion/maacs/maacs_home.html and explore the links on it :smilewink:
sweinhart3 Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I found a website some time ago where you can purchase 6DOF platforms for home use. Unfortunately they ran $10-20,000. Not practical enough for me but would be sweet. Still if I was gonna blow that kinda money I would do it in a real plane. Cant beat the real thing. Which makes me wonder. A lot of people here are real life commerical and military pilots. If you do that for a living, why would you waiste your time on home simulation? jerom1992 Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 does not match the screen at all... there are much better examples. That's partly because he is using TIR, and his head moves slower then the screen
