It is an interesting concept though, instead of moving the whole platform, the cockpit is gimbal mounted with the motion being controlled by a pulley and cable arrangement.

 

I think that the lack of responsiveness is probably due to a combination of software and the windshield wiper motors he is using to power the cable system.

I found a website some time ago where you can purchase 6DOF platforms for home use. Unfortunately they ran $10-20,000. Not practical enough for me but would be sweet. Still if I was gonna blow that kinda money I would do it in a real plane. Cant beat the real thing. Which makes me wonder. A lot of people here are real life commerical and military pilots. If you do that for a living, why would you waiste your time on home simulation?
