SergeK Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I was playing a mission... the one where the insurgents ambushed the convy. Anywho, when you follow the way points, it takes you through a mountain range, where you have to get over a cliff face/peak. I cant get over the damned thing. I have good airspeed, try to gain alt, but lose airspeed about 50meters short of the summit. Any pointers?
predaeus Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 If nothing else helps, circle. But always keep forward momentum.
EtherealN Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 130 km/h IAS (NOT GS, which is shown on your HUD) is your best climbing speed. Lower than that and you decrease your maximum altitude, same with higher. If you have difficulties, circle at that airspeed. vortex360 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Sometimes there is a pass nearby. Make sure the throttle is open.

coolts Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Dont forget the engine de-ice switch, (top panel coupled with dust protector). That, and, gaining altitude early did it for me. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals
26-J39 Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Dumping rockets will help.. had to do it many times before.. Not favourable but when in desperate need..better than crashing :)
STP Dragon Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Was it the mission "Convoyhunting"? It is no problem to cross the mountain on the waypoint-route. If it was not possible for you, your engines was damaged by a hit. Fly back to the FARP#2 for repair. It is not necessary to drop your weapons at this point.
