159th_Falcon Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Not sure if its possible but how about random weather conditions in the Free-Flight Bad weather mission? Also if you choose to make a bad weather scenario it would be nice to have the weather conditions in the briefing, mainly; Wind Direction Wind Velocity (either in M/S or Beaufort) Turbulence Temperature And barometric altitude correction For the rest, looking good. dooom Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 This looks absolutely brilliant Dragon... i see great value on dedicated servers bringing people together in addition to squad level play. any thought to building training on some of the other oft overlooked /rarely employed elements: *performing nav position fix. *random mechanical failures/emergency redirect to new FARPs. *unguided weapons training (cannon on soft targets)//bombing ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL
Lowboy Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I understand your focus on online squads, but.....any chance for some of these new missions of the high quality you have given before for us offline/single-player types...? just hoping...... and thank you for the mission pack while i am here typing.......
STP Dragon Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) @ Falcon: Nice idea... random weather.... but sadly not possible. :( Of course, the weather conditions will be added to the briefing :) @ dooom: *performing nav position fix. -> I have to take a look on it. I don't know if this is possible. *random mechanical failures/emergency redirect to new FARPs. -> Very good idea! But I'm not sure if it is possible to make this random. I will take a look. Anyway I will add "Mechanics Failure" to the list. *unguided weapons training (cannon on soft targets)//bombing -> This can be done in the "Standard Weapons" mission. @ Lowboy: There will also be a SP-Version. But primarily this is designed for squadrons. @ all: I never installed a skin. How does it work? It will overwrite a default skin, yes? What skin should I use for the missions so you will see your squadron-skin??? Butcher59 Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Hmm, this starts to be an interesting stuff! You mentioned Sochi because a lot of squads have there homebase there. I have to fly a lot around this place so it would be nice, if eligible, for the nav flights, to fly over a bit more densely populated area. Just for eye kandy! (The Area around Samtredia for example) In the briefing pages there could be some explanation, tips and trick, especially for the harder training missions. All in all i think you have mentioned the most topics, so i'm looking forward to fly the first Dragon-Training-Missions. :pilotfly: CPU: Intel i7-5820K 3,3GHz Motherboard: ASUS X99-A Grafik Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX1080 Ti 337.50 RAM: 32GB PIMAX 5k+ BE Hotas Warthog with Simped Pedals WIN 10 64bit DirctX 11.0

(The Area around Samtredia for example) Sorry, the pack is basically for squadrons and they will be adamant because of there homebases. Anyway I will try to take a nice route over citys and beaches. Sochi is a nice place too. ;) Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK
EtherealN Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Yeah, I'm not in a squadron but I always use Sochi for my "private" missions too. Love the place. STP Dragon Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 (edited) Yes, I was consider this while I add the waypoits :) "Freeflight", "Bad Weather" and "Mechanics Failure" are finished and tested. Freeflight: 3 groups of 10 Ka-50. 3 Routes Ships and Oilrigs for landingpractice. Bad Weather: Same mission like Freeflight with fog, clouds, thunderstorm, wind and turbulences. Mechanics Failure: Same mission like Freeflight with a time frame of 30min for fail functions. Next homework is "Kh-25ML Anti-Ship". Stay tuned. ;) Edited November 5, 2009 by =STP= Dragon Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK
dooom Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 another suggestion - what about high-alt ingress? i.e. teeaching systems managemnt required to cross mountain ranges (inpired by aar in general discussions). STP Dragon Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 On one of the three routes in "Freeflight" you have to cross mountains at about 2000m. Is this enough? 1 Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK
dooom Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 do you trigger reminders for engine management systems as you approach the crossing? or are the teaching tips handled in the briefing at launch? STP Dragon Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 No, I don't have any teaching-tips. This is the job of the squadron-lead. This would go byond the score. In this case I had to add teaching-tips for all thinks you can practice in the missions: - Startup - ABRIS functions - Taxi by rolling - Taxi by hovering - Takeoff from parking position - Takeoff from runway - Manual hover - Autohover - Autopilots and Filghtdirector - Formation flight - Highspeed flight - Low-level flight - Landing on ships - Landing on oilrigs - Landing on parking position - Landing on runway ... no no, this would go byond the score, sorry. By the way: EKRAN will tell you if you need antiice. ;) Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK

I.e. rotor ice/pitot heat/feul amounts. Yesterday I tested this. In "Freeflight" and "Bad Weather" I set the temperatur to 7°C. In "Bad Weather" it was raining (7°C) at the airport and snowing (below 0°C) in the mountains. There you have to switch on antiice. In "Freeflight" there won't be a antiice-alert because the air moisture is to low (no rain/snow). Anyway it is below 0°C in the mountains and I add a hint in the briefing. Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK

The manual hints taht landing in 0 visibility is possible on page10-16... it made me think it would be a great training exercise.
