I have been flying and fighting the Ka in single mode for some time now and would like to try online missions. I have no idea how to join in online and would appreciate a detailed instruction as to the procedure required.

Please consult the GUI Manual, page 148. You will find detailed information on what you seek.

:)people are pretty cool about it to be honest. I was intimidated when i first ventured online. my advice is simple - make sure you at least know how to fly and use datalink.

-launch Multiplayer

-click client

-look for low ping/unlocked games.

-ensure you have that particular map pack... Dragons MP missions are typical.

-choose an open slot

-Click Briefing- read all breifing notes! there may be dedicated radio frequencies to allow datalink to be used across groups. you may also have to fuel up and arm first!!

-click fly!

-announce you are joining via chat to all - ask if anyone is using datalink and what ID#s/frequency

slots are limited on low ping servers... and missions are long. the biggest frustration is when someone takes a slot and is spamming global chat with questions on fundamentals such as targeting / ground crew / radio etc.

hope that helps!

Please note, there is NO need to have the missions installed locally, any mission hosted on any server is automaticly downloaded from the server and safed to an temporary location.

About the open slot, in the server list you will see that all servers have at least one "player" that has joined, this in fact is the server host itself and usually should not be counted as an flying player.

For the rest, usefull information Dooom, though i personally dont mind helping people out, even though i am in the middle of an demanding mission.
