zakobi Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 "At the same time, we are continuing to develop the A-10C for the next installment of DCS and are also pursuing a number of professional trainer projects." Does this mean they have done/are doing more than just the A-10C an AC-130? :D

Squid Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 What happened to Flanker team? Nothing sinister I'm sure. It is the computer industry, it is the modern age. Gone are the days when someone stays in one job for life. Someone staying 2 or 3 years is typical of software companies. You get better and faster pay increases by changing to a different company. Myself - I joined the software industry in 1980 after college. I left my first company after two years and 4 months. Why? - to get experience of different work and to get more money. I'm sure it is no different in Moscow, or L.A. or Bombay. exactly. plus, other various reasons often come into play resulting in gradual team composition changes. Because its a team on a project for a while doesnt mean they act as a team in their professional movements. Everyones following their own professional path. And if you think about it, its also long time ago ... flanker was a product of Janes, DiD, ...Microprose etc era ... Even the MS FS team has been terminated recently ... Thanks to Andrey and EvilBivol-1 for this interview form me too.. . i7 880 | HD 7870 | 8 Gb DDR3 1600 | ECS P55H-A | OCZ Vertex 2 180 | Intel 330 180 | WD 500 AAKS | 2x WD 2T Green | Enermax Liberty 620 | CH Combatstick & Throttle | TrackIR 3 | HP ZR24W | Windows 7 x64

Pilotasso Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I work on C-130's yum yum, let it be the next priority hehe :D .
Vekkinho Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I played CoD:MW-1, you know the mission covering your SAS troops from a Gunship. That's when I first thought of having it in DCS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
plumber Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Thanks, great article! I can sure appreciate all the time and effort being put into these sims. I try to turn anybody and everybody on to Lockon and IL2. That's why I have two dedicated flight pods in my house. (Thanks Honey!) People get overwhelmed at first so I just let them fly around a bit until they want to blow something up. It doesn't take long and they're hooked! I have had hours of fun with Lockon FC and there are times after a successful mission where I realize it's 2:00 in the morning and I power down saying to myself, "Man that was frigg'n amazing!!! Thanks again ED, you guys are my best friends:megalol:
OGREMAN Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) A Truely INTERESTING READ This interview conversation has at least provided a sense that ED has taken a stable and consistant approach to its development of what is a premier leader in combat flight simulation. I only regret that it has taken so long to see the benefit of merging the "Flaming Cliffs" user with the more hardcore study sim world of "Black Shark". For most of us, the interface is everything, that is why I use a fully enclosed cockpit replica. When the fighting is done I want to be able to feast on the physics of flight and visual fidelity so I can just "make like a tourist". What ED have already achieved has kept me coming back for more since the beginning so I will always be deeply grateful for the gift of flight they have provided. Edited December 4, 2009 by OGREMAN Short addition [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Taken so long? It's about a year since Black Shark was released. In game development terms, a year is nothing. So this has been quick. And note that FC2 has been in the works for a while. Remember that as early as this spring (I think it was) Wags made a statement that "the Flaming Cliffs franchise will see further development".
