Husker Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Hi everyone Total newbie question here. I have been running through the startup procedures in the video's that come with the disk. Everything is fine except that when I turn on the Schval power switch on the left side panel the TVM does not turn on. I am getting 4 x yellow lights (provided I have loaded armaments) but nothing on the monitor. I've tried contrast/brightness etc but still nothing. If I run the cheat startup I do get the monitor going. I'm missing something but I don't know what - if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it - all other systems are working (well appear to be) - Thanks in advance Cheers
Krippz Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Seems like your Battery1 and 2 are off. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
Husker Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 Thanks for the reply Evontroy - Batteries on Front Side Front panel are on. I switched them off to see whether I had actually mistakenly turned them off instead of on - total system failure :) I am flying - everything else is working (NAV etc) Cheers
Gadroc Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 The display will not turn on until you have your inverters are turned on and the throttle is moved to auto.
Husker Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 OK, now we maybe getting somewhere...thanks for the reply. The inverters are on BUT I have tried using my mouse on changing the throttle to auto but the levers behave exactly like the odd button that is only for show (ie I just get the yellow cross when hovering over it) - I'll bust out the keyboard chart and see if that makes a difference. I figured because I couldn't move it with my mouse that this was an automated system - a stupid thing to think with BS :) Cheers

Husker Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 Thanks everyone for the help. It is now official, I'm an idiot. I've got the throttle to auto (does make a differnce flying it I can tell you :)) but still no TV BUT it did make me revisit my checklist I was using and the generators weren't part of it.....should generators be on before or after engine start-up? Cheers
Krippz Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Hit PageUp twice. Yeah that should do it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
sobek Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 should generators be on before or after engine start-up? I think from the moment that rotor RPM reaches nominal. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
EtherealN Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 You need generators to get power to the Skhval. What you need is: 1) Batteries on 2) Fuel pumps on 3) Do the APU, start both engines, close APU 4) Throttles to auto 5) Generators on Now it should be powered. Note that you also do need to activate the weapon control system switch right of the Ejection seat switch. EtherealN Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Well yeah, but the enemy will be really close if you are going to actually use the Shkval while having Ground AC connected. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
