Duke49th Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Can anyone pleeeeaaase tell me how to disable GNSS and/or GPS for Missions. (MP missions if it makes any difference!?) I tried to disable it via opening and editing the mission lua files. (GPS_GNSS.lua) SAT_SYS_GLONASS = 0 SAT_SYS_GPS = 0 But it automaticly activates the GNSS when starting the mission...dunno if it also auto activates GPS when on USA side. Please:helpsmilie: I want to make a campaign with hard difficulty and I'm stucking here. Thanks. P.s.: Briefing is in german...yet.... when I finished the campaign I will translate it to english;) --If anyone is curios about, here is the pdf briefing(german): Briefing Mission1Black Evolution.miz Edited January 17, 2010 by Duke49th [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 49th Black Diamonds - DCS & Falcon BMS Online Squad
zdXu Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Can anyone pleeeeaaase tell me how to disable GNSS and/or GPS for Missions. (MP missions if it makes any difference!?) I doubt that the DCS-engine can correctly handle and illustrate a failure in the GNSS-system. But i could be wrong. OT: I saw the "NON respawn during mission-progress"-"feature" in your mission. IMO that is exactly what we need on special online-servres (those who want to go for more realism) to prevent that IMO stupid try-and-error-behaviour on normal online-servers.
Duke49th Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 I doubt that the DCS-engine can correctly handle and illustrate a failure in the GNSS-system. But i could be wrong. I don't want to simulate a failure. I want to completely disable it. (But if you mean this too:) That would make the setting in the file and also the INU-Fix updates useless:( I hope you're wrong... OT: I saw the "NON respawn during mission-progress"-"feature" in your mission. IMO that is exactly what we need on special online-servres (those who want to go for more realism) to prevent that IMO stupid try-and-error-behaviour on normal online-servers. It is not a feature ;) It is a nogo directive from me to our squad members when flying this mission! :) But yes, what it is now is arcade:mad: But back to topic, I wanna know if I it is possible to deactivate the GNSS/GPS. Duke49th Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) First I was schocked by thinking about commenting out hundreds of line's:eek: Then I found the very usefull function in Notepad++ to comment out every marked line, puhh...lucky me:D Nope, doesn't work :( I thought it works, because I Ramp and it shows me "GNSS No". But after a few seconds it switches to ready. Edited January 18, 2010 by Duke49th [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 49th Black Diamonds - DCS & Falcon BMS Online Squad
dooom Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 i have opposite problem - i made a mission and GNSS will not enable - It shows GNSS No, Routes NO, etc...so i have a constant NAV ERROR on ABRIS and HSI is wonky. I want to enable it. ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL
Frederf Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I've been told repeatedly that it is possible to knock out the GPS system so the only GNSS left is GLONASS. There must be a way, keep trying!
Speed Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 (edited) Well, you can make a mission where you can't respawn during mission progress. Check which helos are occupied in the first 5 seconds, set a flag if they are occupied. After 5 seconds, continuously deactivate any helos that have ther flags set to false. Continuously evaluate the active helos to check to see if they are dead. If they turn up dead, clear their flag so that they are continously deactivated. And yes, you can deactivate a helo that an actual human is flying, the human flying it gets kicked back to the F10 map. Note: I think that this tactic does not prevent someone from exiting the game from a severely damaged chopper or one that is about to crash, and then rejoining on the same helicopter, but it's better than nothing.
