Downey Jr. Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I know there's a solution to this...it's not engine icing...Im losing oil pressure with altitude or sustained high altitude ...I try to keep my speed about 150 but I eventually had total left engine pressure shutdown...any thoughts? tips? frequent sight on this mission...
Total Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 upload a track file so we cna see what's going on :)
Downey Jr. Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 track uploaded well here it is, for anyone who cares to open it and fast forward to the part I just stand there try to get some more altitude but can see my pressure and engines failing again. I noticed when I throttle down from auto to lower (on the yellow throttle) it makes the warnings stop but the engines are still messed up and I can't get altitude... I've had the same issues with FSX and in that you have to basically play it with finesse and press a few knobs here and there while gently pushing the altimeter...very subtle but the difference between getting alot of altitude to nothing at all...obviously I have not yet mastered this in either games lolaltitude.trk
Stalevar Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Engine anti-ice off -> engine dead -> pilot dead. No oil pressure problems detected :)
mvsgas Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 (edited) Engine anti-ice off -> engine dead -> pilot dead. No oil pressure problems detected :) What he said x2 http://forums.eagle.ru/search.php?searchid=2150180 You did not even turn pitot heat until half an hour of flight. Should turn on all anti-ice before ice build up or ass soon as you take off so you do not forget. Engine anti-ice was off the entire flight. Edited March 16, 2010 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
EtherealN Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Remember that there is a significant difference between anti-ice and de-ice. The former prevents icing before it can occur, and should therefore be turned on well before you are at risk of ice buildup. Remember that temperature can plummet due to pressure changes, wherefore you can get ice buildup even before you enter 0-degree air. Downey Jr. Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 oh...I missed an anti-ice toggle? ...for the entire engine? lol Im a dumbass...I couldn't find that...I found the 2 pitot heats and rotor anti-ice
Distiler Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Yes, just at the right of rotor de-ice switch there is the engine de-ice/neutral/dust-filter switch. For de-ice switch it up. AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
