Avilator Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I found this image on Google Maps. It shows what looks like an A-10 sitting on the north end of the ramp at KAPN airport. The airport is listed as having one military aircraft based there, but this doesn't make any sense. It is the only one on the ramp, there is no airshow, and it doesn't seem to have made an emergency landing. Can anyone comment on this? (Just put KAPN in a google maps or google earth search) I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" The Flying Goose Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I see what you mean and its definitely a little different. I don't know about A-10 because to me(I may be wrong) the wings look a little too slanted forward. Can't tell you if it's civ or military but if this is also on Google earth, it'll tell you when the photo was taken. That'll probably help to rule in or out if it is military. Not to shoot you down but if I had to guess I'd say its civilian. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows? Good Find! Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz, Sapphire 5870, TM Warthog, 4 GB RAM, Windows 7
Stickers Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 It's probably Michigan ANG. Maybe she was doing touch and goes and decided to grab lunch at KAPN? Could be a number of reasons, but normal. http://www.127wg.ang.af.mil/
000BIGMAC000 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 The slant comes from the shadow of the dihedral in the wings...
