viperace Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Just wondering, i have the dowloaded version, but really wanted a physical CD, so I went ahead and bought the CD as well (THEN i saw the utility, but still, the 40% hardware thing). I just tought that with the CD i can ALWAYS play FC without worrying too much about if the companies are still in business. So just out of curiosity, how many that already have the download version are going to buy FC on cd?

Been thinking along the same lines myself although with the registry backup util I may hold off a little longer, just burnt my download version onto a DVD and put it in a case with my original Lock On disc.
Guest ruggbutt Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 LOC is going to Russia to fly in a Mig 29 in August, gonna get me a jen-u-ine Russian copy.
britgliderpilot Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 LOC is going to Russia to fly in a Mig 29 in August, gonna get me a jen-u-ine Russian copy. The lucky sod! Tell him he will be burnt at the stake and then kicked out of the squadron unless he brings back a fully comprehensive photo diary, including video and signed photographs with his pilot, and proceeds to write in great detail about his experiences. Oh, a genuine Russian copy would be nice, too. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Guest ruggbutt Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 He's had things "explained" to him about the trip. Evidently there will be vids made in cockpit, and he's going to buy a digicam to take w/him as there's a huge airshow going on at the same time. In fact, he's technically part of the airshow as he'll be taking off from the airfield during the show, the same strip that the rest of the planes are taking off from. We're all pretty sure that the Mig pilot will make him puke. :)
Jester_159th Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I would have liked a copy of FC on disc, but I can't justify spending that ammount again for what would be little more than an extra copy of something I already have. Especially when I've just spent £100 on an X-52 (...which arrived today...faulty!!)

lucasdigital Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I must confess that I don't see the point in getting the hardcopy. I prefer the "software dongle" over having the find the CD every time I want to play a game. I'll try and remember to back up the executable, along with the required patches, though I'm lucky in that I've three PCs linked together with plenty of storage space. -- L u c a s d i g i t a l Mark Lucas http://www.lucas-digital.com
