Ven Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 A10 campaign, I clear an area of AAA and SAM with my mavericks. I put my nose onto some T80's and tell my wingman to engage ground targets. He ignores the easy targets, goes deeper, gets shot by IR SAM's ZSU-23's and what not. Of the 7 missions I've flown, I brought him back alive only once. And that's when I told him to do nothing. Any secrets on controlling your wingman?
h00t74 Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Lock up the target with the Diamond(Not the Maverick) and then tell him to attack your target. Tab Changes Target?? SOmeone confirm that for em pls
Ven Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 I just tried... he doesn't respond at all. And then told him to complete mission and rejoin. He said roger and went suicidal again. And how do you lock up with diamond? I know the next waypoint key cycles through all the targets which is waste of time. Is there another way to lock up specific target with the diamond?
HiJack Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I had the same experience with the A-10 missions (I'm finished with them now :D ). The wingman command "mission and rejoin" kills him off every single time. I did not waste time figuring it out but finished off the targets myself, a lot of rearming ;) ®
71st_Mastiff Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I just tell 'em to engage the Tripple a targets. Worked for me. HiJack Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I just tell 'em to engage the Tripple a targets. Worked for me. Yes sometimes it does but most of the time the wingman does stupid maneuvers and get in to trouble, especially with the command “mission and rejoin”. If the wingman spots a SAM they can’t engage it by themselves without your command to do so. The best way to use the wingman in the A-10 campaign is to command him to attack SAMs and pay close attention to where the SAM site is located so you can take it out yourself if the wingman fails. When wingman is attacking SAMs it’s best to stay behind him and observe his task. ®
Ven Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 In the A-10 campaign, engage air defenses command makes him go for the SA-11 every single time. Wish there's command to tell him to go after closest air defense target.
