Updated drive- resolution issue now:

I just updated my video card driver (GTX 295). Before I did, I had a 1080p 1920x1080 native resolution, after I updated I can't get the same res. its to big to fit on my monitor (42").

 

Any ideas?????

This is a driver overscan issue.

Google (your monitor make model) Nvidia overscan. There are several work arounds that involve editing an inf file. Unfortunately the specifics are different for each monitor that exhibits the issue.

I'm using a 42" lcd flat screen tv.

and who makes this 42" LCD TV? More importantly, what model LCD TV is it? You can usually find this information in the product documentation, or somewhere on the product itself.

 

Once you have this information, google: Nvidia overscan + <make> + <model>

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

 

Yeah I found it, but it worked fine with the last drivers i had. I'm not uninstalling them then changing files before reinstalling it though.
