my padlock still not working?

I still miss a working Padlock

my game settings are both flight and avionics mode Off

padlock On

'options for all missions' On

have a TrackIR4 attached

in Quick Flight F15, starting with 2 bogies heading into me

I hit Num. Lock View (cycle padlock)

 

nothing happens

I lock one of them

hit Num.

nothing happens

 

what am I missing

reverted to default definitions and reassigned keys

no more errors reported

 

but

I could be wrong, but I think the trackir nullifies the padlock function.

Look at the controls pdf, perhaps you thought Num. was an abreviation of Numlock, but it is not (tho it's easy to be confused at first look):

 

Key "." from numerical pad to start/change padlock (Num. - cycle padlock)

"Numlock" key to disengage padlock (Numlock - stop padlock)

You must be on correct mode for padlock to work. A/G mode for padlocking ground and A/A for padlocking missiles etc. Works with or without TrackIR.

just tried my Black Shark and padlocking works there

the 'flag in the ground' and must be the AG mode

 

it's rather a mystery, cant find anything wrong with my install

 

would like the AA padlock

ok found one oversight

 

 

in A10 padlock only works when in AG mode, bingo

(shows a cross pointing at the ground spot 'in exact middle of screen', which placement I do not like somehow, who knows howto MOD?)

 

now trying to find when 'thread missile' in F15 works
