I have DCS BS but flew mostly with an old saitek x45. I recently got a logi 940 and noticed all the problems in the forums with DCS BS and 940.

I just purchased and downloaded FC2 today, and I assume some of those problems are present in FC2 ?

I notice someone posted about programing BS by using the logi software instead of the ingame options, seemed more effective.

My question is : are 940 users in FC2 using ingame options or the logi software to build their control profiles ?

I'm just trying to figuar out the best way to get the 940 in a functioning state inspite of it's flaws until logi or ED sort out these issues.

The G940 works fine for FC2, for me. Although, I'm curious if it handles the autopilot differently from other sticks. It's a decent stick, any 'issues' with it usually center around force feedback & trim... haven't run into issues in FC2 yet. I set up my commands in the profiling software, so that I can change things in one location rather than in 7 different aircraft. I'd go CRAZY trying to keep things consistent in the in-game software. One of the ED guys suggests keeping it in-game, but I can't see how that's practical for me.

Thanks for the reply, I've been playing around with it all day. I can't get FC2 to launch from the logi software not sure want I'm doing wrong. I don't think I'll recognize the profile if I cant launch it from the logi software.

I set the FC2 profile as a global persistent profile in Options - Global Profiler Settings. It's a bit of a hack but works fine. Obviously have to switch between BS and FC2, but I haven't set up BS yet.

Setting up a persistent profile in the Logitech Profiler is the only way to go. Sims like FC2 and DCS:BS use a separate launcher and 3D executable and the Logi profiler can't handle that.

The separate controls configurations in FC2 really have me baffled. I think there is more commonality between the aircraft controls assignments than there is individuality. I find it difficult to keep the in-game config files consistent although I keep trying. One think I might be seeing is one aircraft's .lua file overwriting another aircraft's config ... but I can't nail that down yet and it easily could be something I am doing wrong. :)

It is possible to create multiple G940 profiles to handle the differences in aircraft ... might be possible to get away with one for the RU aircratf and one for the US aircraft.

I'd agree, there's much more commonality between aircraft than differences. So far, I can fly all ground attack aircraft plus the F15 using HOTAS and a MFP.

The biggest differences offhand are radar + targeting, and they often use the same key. Turning on Radar & ETS is the same key (ETS in the Su-25)... Turning on the Shkval TV in the su-25 is the same key as CCRP release mode for the a-10. Similarities like that make it much easier to set up a HOTAS.

I have to say THANK YOU to ED for making the aircraft key commands work across multiple aircraft!

If you started making multiple profiles for aircraft, you should just do the configurations in game.

I have one profiler profile and with that the only commands are 4 zones on the mini-stick called 2, 7, 3, 4 and are assigned to various HUD modes of all the FC2 planes. X has a small deadzone and Y has none. Sensitivity for both set to zero (big curve). Everything else is assigned through the game, the only way I would ever go. I usually add a 15 curve in pitch and a FFB strngth of 60-80 depending on the plane. There's still some center slop that I'd like to see adressed but so long as I trim correctly I can fly fairly precisely.

My DCS wish list: Su25, Su30, Mi24, AH1, F/A-18C, Afghanistan ...and frankly, the flight sim world should stop at 1995.

Any of the throttle axis (plural... axii? axises?) work for the collective, and in fact should be bound by default if I recall. Just move the throttle a lot when trying to bind it to the collective, it should pop up one of the two throttle axises.

The the siming world needs to petition individual developers like ED to ALSO create their own game hardware to go along with the software!! ??? What is going on in this industry? Is it all smoke and mirrors, is anyone serious about flight sims?
