Distiler Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Do you have any game or aplication that uses opengl? (single player UI uses opengl, the simulator in itself uses directx). I'm wondering if those tohiba drivers have a good opengl implementation. Do you have any strange codec pack, etc anything unusual installed in your computer that you can remember? I'm really getting out of ideas. Edited April 13, 2010 by Distiler AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Distiler Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Ok sent you the edited options.lua. Strange thing, line numbers are not the same, perhaps because it is the german version. Weird tho Let's see if using your native resolution, correct aspect and full screen works (default res in options.lua is 1024x768 in windowed mode, should work but who knows) Edited April 13, 2010 by Distiler AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Distiler Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Are there any files created in /temp folder this time? BTW can you confirm that in the root folder you have a readme1.01 text file? Distiler Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Tell your antivirus to exclude blackshark folder from resident/automatic/continuous scan. JG11Preusse Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 im a bit wondering, that i dont get the "launcher.exe" problem, after changing resolution or changing this option file, you mentioned. all in all, the game only starts in multiplayer version, not single player
Distiler Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 launcher.exe is the single player interface, and it's opengl. Multiplayer is dcs.exe, the same executable used when you're in the helicopter cockpit, and it's directx. The most plausible hipothesis is something related to ati drivers (ati has never been very good with opengl) but who knows. I'm really out of ideas. Well, you could install Vista 64 in another partition and see if it works (vista + service pack 2 has the same perfomance as W7) AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

I really really doubt it's a problem in BS. The fact that other software works doesen't mean anything. Many games work with a version of a driver and fail with the next version. I'm still thinking but I think my last idea is just going to Vista. Good luck! AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Good luck! ^ you will understand, that i dont go back to vista only because 1 software, which dont wants to work. as we learned, the simulator itself works, only the launcher makes trouble. so i also cant imagine, that the video drivers are a problem, because in the game itselfs, they are working normal. i have a problem with the "launcher.exe" and ich i use google, it looks like tonns of others also have problem with this launcher.exe. maybe the programmers can correct this issue .... is not normal i guess

Good luck! may games ... i listed them almost all (forgot to mention jutland, which i also own) are all working excellent with my sytem. if opengl or not .. nowhere i had or have any problem. im 100% sure, that bs is the problem, otherwise it makes no sence and if i know now, that the game itselfs works in multiplayer, only the single player dont womnts to start, im 100% more sure than the 100% i mentioned before. 39 usd for this software and if i count the hours i tried to make this funny kind of software working, it maybe costs me more than 1000 usd without working until now. very angry now andi
JG11Preusse Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 killed almost every tadk in the taskmanager, that keeps the system running. only 5 tasks left and still the problem. flew 10 minutes with the mig-29 in lock on fc2 ... woks perfect .... only to makes me a little bit calm down from this problems with this bs software. someone have an idea, how long the bs supprt needs to answer ???? its now some days ago without any response
EtherealN Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Some further suggestions: If you have not done so already, please disconnect all peripherals - joystick, mouse, network cables - everything. If the problem goes away you'll know it was one of them, and you can then re-connect them one at a time to see what it was. If possible, use the same installer to install on another computer (wife/friend etc) and try to start Launcher.exe there (not multiplayer, since you don't want to activate). Obviously you would want to uninstall afterwards though. Slayer Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 As is typical with store bought PC's his computer is loaded to the gills with bloatware/shovelware. Wildtangent, Mcaffe, video zooming software etc etc all make me cringe. Even if junkware like this isn't running it often installs stuff like codec's, on screen displays and other stuff that is loaded regardless if the program is running or not. As EtherealN pointed out I am also suspicious of the codecs. I know for a fact that some codec packs will make it so BS can't run, just do a forum search. K-lite for instance has a little utility you need to run to make an exception list so that games don't try to use the codecs. I have dealt with so many problems like this that are unsolvable on family and friends computers I have lost track. Usually the only fix is a clean format and ONLY use the OS install CD and get the latest drivers. Then make a restore point and a back up of your clean configuration so you always have something to fall back on. I know you probably don't want to hear that but I'd bet money that it would fix your problems..
