Fish Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Hi All, Just dabbling into the mission editor. And i have a couple of questions I planned a group to take off, from the runway, and another from ramp. Also planned a flight group to land maybe 10mins later. The take off groups both used one end of the runway, while the return group used the opposite end. Not sure why it would be. What are the rules which determine the direction a group uses to land and take off. Second. How do I make a flight escort another plane or flight group? Third. How do i make a plane loiter in a loop (i already set 2 waypoints as start and end loop), and what rules apply, Will they stay till fuel gets low. What are the triggers which make a group on say CAP, break, or RTB. Thanks in advance. If you set no windspeed in the mission then the choose of the landing-strip is random.
h00t74 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 To make a group escort another, you pretty much have to set the same waypoints and speeds. I usually five the escorts a little more altitude. On the Loop, Yes they will stay in the loop until they need to land due to fuel. If you are worried about them not being up the entire time, Set anopther group w/ 23 hour delay. Then set a trigger when group a lands(Moves in area) the other group is activated
TAIPAN_ Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 When you're flying, how can we tell the wind direction in say the Su-25? What's the best way to find out? Cheers Pimax Crystal VR & Simpit User | Ryzen CPU & Nvidia RTX GPU | Some of my mods
h00t74 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 A good mission designer will have it in his Briefing for you. Other than that, The tower gives you wind when you ask for takeoff and landing
dsobbe Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Fish, I have left a post for the wishlist about changing aircraft taking off in one direction and landing in another to all in the same direction. It seems to be the default. Maybe someday it will be changed. Until then, I just make sure I leave enough time between departures and arrivals so they don't conflict. Arriving aircraft do a lot of maneuvering before turning final.
