correct, and its because it leaves open door to foul play. Don't ask why or how, do a search on LEAVU and you'll find threads describing good and bad about it.

Nothing to do with leavu. Only the data export ability itself.

If strike aircraft can use LEAVU then it's both isn't it? Anyway, doesn't matter... we had enough discussion around this

Strike aircraft don't have radar, therefore nothing shows up even if they have leavu on.

The only thing that could be D'Linked to strike aircraft is locked targets picked up by fighters "if" on the same Leavu server. I think u need to get your facts in order before you paint a broad brush about the workings of this software. By doing so you not only diminish the work put in by yoda, but also discourage other folks from giving it a shot and enjoying it.

You obviously haven't tried it therefore u know squat about it.

Modern cars have also have a GPS.. get with the times, dont like it? don't use it. Simple as that

So there's one example of possibilty for foul play and its said from your mouth... so now you better shut up. I wasn't bashing on anyone or anything... I was saying there is negative aspect of its use.

Sigh.... So am I to assume u are paranoid of strike aircraft like A-10's and Su25T's shooting you down??

You are bashing. Not everyone considers this negative. Don't like it on your server? Fine.

Quit implying people are doing the wrong thing by using it. You are simply wrong.

You are stating your opinion as if it was everybody's truth. In fact very many people disagree

with you , so saying "this has already been discussed, this was the results" is completely

misguiding. The only thing you are saying is your own opinion, which just so happens to be at

one far end of the spectrum.

One way you could have said it would be "We don't believe the general risks with enabled data export are worth it"

or "we feel like the specific mod ... changes gameplay from what we intend to have on our server"

Instead you write

correct, and its because it leaves open door to foul play. Don't ask why or how, do a search on LEAVU and you'll find threads describing good and bad about it.

As if your opinion is some form of general fact and that Leavu is the cause of all your

problems. Leavu has not exposed a single data source or variable that isn't already available

and advertised as available by ED themselves.

Whatever you chose to set as available on your server is up to you, but don't come and say

Leavu has exposed more than what was already there.

I'll quote you and I'll say the general risks are minimal to the point of being afraid to go out walking on the sidewalk because you might fall and break a leg. In other words, you're blowing the risks out of proportion because, and I paraphrase you 'this might get used against me!' where 'this' was the datalink.

As I've said before; if you don't like it, fine. You already have the means to keep it out of your own backyard, so give it a rest.

Is there a list of servers who allow it anywhere, or will it be in a server description of sorts perhaps? I want to know when I join if datalink is available.

Haven't gotten the chance to try this myself, as I can't afford several screens. Hope I can someday though, it looks awesome.

It seems that the export.lua is a remarkable thing. I have the Black Shark virtual panel running on a different machine. Due to the "integrity" check I can't join in others servers. Unfortunately I will not fly on those servers and it is my loss. Are there really that many cheaters in this simming world? Apparently there are and that is sad. I could see if this was X-box or PS3. Couldn't someone tell if a pilot is racking up kill after kill in a suspicious way and kick that player? Why not just ask people that join to just do the right thing. I thought I was among serious simmers but now this is turning into Air Quake or Air WOW with all the rules. It's a pity because the 104th and several others have done some fantastic work on their missions and their pilots are top notch but I can't fly with them. Hopefully we can get this squared away soon. I miss flying with the 104th. I also like using the items I paid for and took the time to set up. Coincidentally, I was on the 104th TS a little ways back getting help to get my multiple monitor and virtual gauges set up.

No, I don't think there is a list. However, in servers that state in their description that they are checking the integrity of the default export.lua you will not be able to use Tacview, LEAVU or ERI.

There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Why can you not fly with them? There are dozens of pilots that have no problem playing in online servers.

Thanks case, good to know.

About the mod, I wish there was a version for the russian birds as well, would make the mod available on many more servers I think.

It's usable with any aircraft; Yoda invited people to add Russian-bird themed displays but no one took him up on his offer.

I will have a server up soon, or at least at some point, which allows local exports (exporting data from own sensors).

This let's Eri/Leavu run fine. However "tacview live" will not work ;)

I believe 44th will also be hosting a mission at some point.

Yeps I know, read trough all that drama when he was making and testing it. Just wish someone talented would take him up on the offer ;)
