rattler Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Has anyone been using the trackir 5 with windows 7x64. If so could you tell me your opinion on this device. going to be using this with Lockon Fc1 and Fc2, Possibly. Falcon 4 AF. Thanks.:)
sweinhart3 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 If you dont have trackir you are missing out big time. I have both trackir 4 and trackir 5. I personally found a big enough difference between the two that made trackir 5 worth the purchase. The biggest difference being that the higher resolution allows smaller head movements with greater precision and smoothness. That might not be as big a deal with FC2, but in Blackshark it makes a difference when your trying to click individual switches in the pit with your mouse especially on the sides where you have to keep your head still. Thanks for the info. Yes I figured the 5 would be a lot better than the 4. Question, since I am using this with FC1 for awhile is the 6dof available or just with FC2 and BS?:)

coolts Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 FC2.0 supports roll and all the rest. Its limited more than BS but thats because the cockpits arent fully 3d. many mods unlock this to give greater, (almost DCS levels), of 6DOF freedom, as long as you can live with a few artifacts if you jump up in your seat, for instance, then you are good to go. trackIR rocks. Cant, won't fly without it now. More important than a HOTAS & pedals IMO as it improves your situational awareness more than anything else. garengarch Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 and tir5 works great in FF5.5 - can't help you with AF sorry. Vega 2700x /16Gb ram/480Gb SSD/1Tb Seagate/nVidia 2080/Win 10 64 bit Rift. T-flight pedals.
rattler Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 and tir5 works great in FF5.5 - can't help you with AF sorry. Seems AF is taking a back set to FF5.5. I do like AF but then again I had problems with FF5.5 and windows 7x64. Keeping eye on it. Yes thanks tir5 seems to be the one of choice now even amongst tir4 users. Cheers.
