kobac Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) I do not know how is your experiences, but to me, after patching from v. 1.01c to v. 1.02 my FPS is dropped from about 40 to 20 (standard mission started shooting range). I do not know if we can use the DCS MaX affinity tool 1.70, and whether it helped? Edited May 16, 2010 by kobac [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
159th_Viper Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 .....after patching from v. 1.01c to v. 1.02......[/color] Missed the following post, eh? Pay close attention to the Red Bit :) * Installation / Patchday ABC BIG RED LETTERS: The 1.0.2 patch must be installed over a fresh installation of DCS:BS 1.0. - Patching over version 1.0.1c is not supported. - Mods (even if just disabled) will break the patch installation. Procedure: Backup \Config\Input\Aircrafts Remove from backup you took: aircraftNames.lua Any default.lua you find in the subfolders. [*]Uninstall DCS [*]install 1.0 [*]install 1.0.2 [*]Copy your backup of \Aircrafts back. Replace all. Note: Important that you DID remove the files in the backup-step. [*]Start DCS 1.0.2 in MP or fly a SP Mission - it will ASK for activation - but it will NOT spend any activations. Also: - Be sure you have picked the correct LANGUAGE for your DCS versions. - If you have problems during install/reinstall/patching/activation - try to disable "security/ anti-malware software" since some of them may prevent the installer or activation to work properly. - TrackIR users must download the latest "game updates" from the TrackIR updater. ----------------------------------------- * Game related * FPS problems: - Be sure you're not using any tools that may be affecting the game performance (Fraps / TacView Recording). - Patched? Check. Tweak and tune the settings of the game afterwards (there's quite a few tips around this fine forum - you just need to search / look for them). - Run without MODS, including DCSmax. Leave all your skins / sounds etc at the front door, dont bring them in with you into DCS just yet. * Graphics/GPU/Driver related - Test with different drivers (depending on your GPU). - Use driver cleaner kits when you unintsall one driver and test the next. - Disable Graphic "FluffyStuff things" and see if this changes anything regarding yhour issue. - Disable SLI / CrossFire if possible. - Clogged up cooling? Your card may be overheating. * Computer related - Get rid of all unnecessary software (tools / coolstuff / badstuff) - Temporary disable all security related software while being OFFLINE from internet (never do that while you're hotwired to internet). - O/C is bad when troubleshooting. O/C must be set to standard frequencies. Timings and everything related to PCI-bus/Graphics are being affected. Even FPS may be affected by a improperly set O/C or Memory timings. * Healthy system - Free up your disk, check them for errors (CHKDSK C: /F etc) - Defrag. (It's quite often superfluious - but it's hard to tell in advance when there's something related to fragmentation). - Ensure that your system is without other related glitches (read the Event Logs for System, Application) - Ensure that you *did* remove all unnecessary software - because Services running in the background will affect your game performance. - Had virus on your computer previously? Your Windows is damaged - it may need a full reinstall to actually work properly with the game. * And you *DID* remember to REBOOT after that "last minor change on the system of yours last night" ... :) Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? bengo Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 ... my FPS is dropped from about 40 to 20 I have the same issue. I can solve it by ALT-TABbing out of the game and then going back in. FPS are then back in the high 40's low 50's. I do not know if we can use the DCS MaX affinity tool 1.70, and whether it helped? DCSMax currently does not work as patch changed the exe-names for BlackShark. i7 6700k/GTX1070-8G/MSI-Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon/32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3000MHZ Vengeance 1600/TM Warthog #6106/Samsung SB350_S27B350H/OCZ Agility3 SSD 128GB / Win10-64/TIR5
Panzertard Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 What DCS-Max did to improve performance is now currently a part of the game. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
bengo Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 What DCS-Max did to improve performance is now currently a part of the game. I'd love to have DCSMax working again for the the quick launching of missions and the ease a choosing and switching skins when starting a single player mission. i7 6700k/GTX1070-8G/MSI-Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon/32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3000MHZ Vengeance 1600/TM Warthog #6106/Samsung SB350_S27B350H/OCZ Agility3 SSD 128GB / Win10-64/TIR5

funkee Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) (...) you slam posters who criticize the patch, even suggesting that it is a matter that can be corrected with "troubleshooting". Don't worry, <EDIT by mod: rant gone> Btw. flickering in DCS and all Lockon series exits independently from graphics card type (nVidia or ATI), but there is a mod arround to fix this bug. "This mod will remove flickering shadows and dancing shadows on the horizon in DCS Black Shark." You may find it on www.lockonfiles.com (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=43264&highlight=shadows) Edited May 16, 2010 by Panzertard someday someone will learn how to articulate themselves [sIGPIC]http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/6720/avatarpolishairforce.png[/sIGPIC] system specs: mobo: Gigabyte GA-P35DS4 rev 2.1, CPU: Intel C2D E8400@4GHz, GPU: Nvidia 8800GTS 512, RAM: Kingston HyperX 4x 1GB 1066MHz Dual Channel, HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F1 640 GB x2, sound: Realtek Azalia ALC889A + SB Audigy + Dolby Digital/DTS external encoder/tuner, display: Asus VW222U 22', case: Raidmax Smilodon, headphones: Sennheiser HD650, stick: Saitek Cyborg Evo, Track IR4 Pro + TrackClip Pro, O/S: Windows 7/Vista x64

sobek Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 [rant] Well, you obviously are not in ANY position to complain about tone on this forum, especially with what you have gotten away with in the past. Coff even apologized/explained with his comment, but it seems that selective perception is strong in some of you guys. 1 Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Panzertard Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) We appoligize for the interuption in the programme. The scheduled program has been closed due to unforseen interference in the broadcast. Next time please check your signals and try to not use the Microwave in the midle of a braodcast. Such causes interference and direct leaks from your mind & thoughts. And we would have to slap a few more warnings about how not to behave. Edited May 16, 2010 by Panzertard The mind is like a parachute.
