Kuky Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) Sorry for the long Thread name (I wanted clear description) so to make it short now... basically I am making custom payload selection for the aircraft and today I was doing the F-15 and now I notice the missiles stationed on the fuselage pylons no longer get pushed from the fuselage... they just go straight... Weird thing is that in quick mission they fire like they should, but when I try test mission and I chose payload they don't  ... what have I messed up? :noexpression: The 2 files I am changing are: C:\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Scripts\Database\Aircraft\_Common\Rearm.lua C:\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\FUI\Resources\RC-Rearming-F-15C.res (for me game is always installed direct into C: directory) Edited May 21, 2010 by Kuky PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Kuky Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Alright, I am very positive this is actually a game bug... I reinstalled fresh FC2 (haven't applied the patch yet) and after creating new mission with F-15 on runway I changed payload to one of the default ones in game (I haven't made any changes to any files at all) and when I was airborne and fired an AIM-7 it wasn't pushed away from fuselage, instead it just went straight. What ever payload you give in mission editor it works fine, but the moment you rearm it doesn't... can anyone replicate this? I will apply the patch now and see if it still does it... Kuky Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 I applied the patch and I get exact same thing... with given payload through mission editor missiles on fuselage get pushed out, if I rearm they don't and just go straight... so this is confirmed bug by the looks of it and nothing to do with me changing payloads in rearm.lua PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Case Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Do you have some screenshots to explain it further Kuky? There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
Kuky Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 ermm... no I don't, don't think it needed.. basically what I'm saying is that say you are given a payload in F-15 and you fly, when you fire AIM-7 from fuselage pylon (that's the only place they can go) the missile will be "pushed" away from the aircraft, then missile rocket engine will ignite and missile will go straight... but if you rearm and do the same it won't... the missile will just go straight ahead of the pylon. Design Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 ermm... no I don't, don't think it needed... I'm sorry but this is a common mistake all you guys do. To replicate ANY bug your description of the problem of this kind is useful but a track, screenshots and the mission are the things that really help. Please, ALWAYS attach the track and say when appears the supposed bug. Why? It's easy, it's the only way to replicate at 100% the same conditions as you (hardware and o.s. issues at a side) All the requests what are asked for in the famous Helping us to helping you post are not because someone is bored, we ask for them because are the things that really helps. Thank you. PS: Please, Kuky don't take this in a personal way, it's a message for all. 1 Carlos "Design" Pastor AMD64x2 5200+, 4GB DDR2, Asus M2V, Nvidia Geforce GTX260, Win7 x64
Kuky Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 I've attached a short video showing first regular missile launch (done without rearming before take off) and second of incorrect missile launch (done after rearming on the base) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Design Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Still it's hard to help you. You don't attach the files that you have modified "Scripts/Database/_Common/rearm.lua" and "FUI/Resources/RC-Rearming-F-15C.res"; and the track (that video helps but devs ALWAYS need a track). One thing, for me the rearm.lua it's at \LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common Which OS are you using? Why don't you attach the DxDiag.txt so it gives us that kind of information and makes it easier to help you? If you have modified any file before patching, it's possible that the installer has been unable to overwrite that modified file. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that issue was corrected with the patch. Again don't take it as something personal, I'm talking to you because this concrete "bug" you have, but those comments about the information users give applies at 95% users that notifies features/bugs. Kuky Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 (edited) What is so hard here? Can you try this on your end and tell me how it works for you? Like I said I tried this on stock installation of the game and with patch also and I haven't touched the rearm.lua etc. I made a video clearly showing AIM7 fired and just going straight... can you now try it first on your end and at least say it works fine on your end THEN I will look at posibility of something else being wrong on my end? First I thought by me changing the files I messed something up, but last night I reinstalled the game and tested this and I still got it... also applied the patch and it's still there, without me modifying any files at all. So can you prove me wrong and try this on your end and cofirm you do not get this issue when you perform a rearm? I did what you asked and made a video to show it, can you now do your bit and double check this on your end? ps: I corrected the first post to where the rearm.lua is installed (just missed one folder in between). Kuky Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 In fact can ANYONE please try this if they have a stock game with no mods etc so I can at least eliminate posibility of this being a game bug and maybe having something to do on my end? Grimes Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) Using stock game + new F-15 I had the same missile performance as Kuky. Selecting a new payload had the Aim7 fire straight off the rail Choosing a default payload in the Mission editor, the Aim7 dropped before rocket ignition. Choosing a default payload with Aim7s and changing the payload in game cause Aim7 to fly right off the rail. Attached is a simple mission file with a single F-15 sitting on the runway. Its payload is empty. Test 1. Step 1. Load in to mission. Step 2 Rearm with any payload using Aim-7. Step 3 Take off Step 4. Select A2A Mode Step 5 Select Aim 7 Step 6 Go to external view Step 7 Fire Aim7 Step 8 Note Aim-7 flight path ================== Test 2 Step 1 Change preset F-15 payload from "empty" to and payload with Aim 7s. Step 2. Load in to mission. Step 3 Take off Step 4. Select A2A Mode Step 5 Select Aim 7 Step 6 Go to external view Step 7 Fire Aim7 Step 8 Note Aim-7 flight path ======== Test Complete The Enrichment Center is committed to the well-being of all participants. Cake and Grief Counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Grimes Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Anyone test if this only happens with missiles that "drop" first? I wonder if the KH-58 might also do it....
