*BUMP*

@FF

How are you playing FC now? As your Zoom View does not work either? If no solution, whats your workaround? I am completely lost.

Still no devs to comment this bug.

I haven't played for a while (I got Boiling Point: Road to hell, which runs about as great as lomac, or even worse). My workaround is using the snapviews (or something like that).

When I'm in the cockpit, I press CTRL+Num0, then press the Num5.

It zooms in (but not as fully as you normally would), but you can't slew the view without snapping to an other view section, that's the disadvantage.

So gunzo isn't very advisable with this "workaround"

nope, it is a fresh install, without any mods installed. I made a clean install of the original LOMAC and "patched" it with the "online version" of FC.

The first things I did was adjusting the gfx settings and configure the Joystick. I had this problem from the beginning and thought I could get rid of it after my Joystick is configured propery. I guessed wrong!

And: I experienced the same symptoms with the FC demo a whlie ago, but I just uninstalled the demo, but I am very dissapointed to have the same situation with this piece of software which I payed for!

Force_Feedback, are you using TrackIR with Vector Expansion by any chance ?

Negative, no, njet, nee, nein, nada, no trackir, no vector expansion.

But if there is a problem with the vector expansion, and there is a soloution for it, please tell me, maybe it will work in my situation as well.

I HAVE A REAL, WORKING SOLOUTION!

Lol, start drooling...

Step 1: Connect your Saitek game controller that messed up your cockpit zoom

Step 2: Download this official Saitek program, it lets you define the deadzone percentage per axis.

If you think it's a virus, check out this official Saitek forum sticky: http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=5437

Step 3: Double click on db.exe

Step 4: Use these settings X:10 Y:10 Z:1 RZ:30

Step 5: Click OK

Step 6: Run lomac and press / or * inside the cockpit, and piss yourself from happyness.

No, I don't know about any problem with Vec Expansion. I was just thinking since head Z-movement with Vector Expansion is used for cockipt zoom in FC than it might mess somehow with your other zoom settings ...

Are you saying that you solved the problem with the joystick dead zone utility?

Yes, cockpit zoom works normally now.

Those x:10 and Y:10 values are barely noticable, the stick is still very sensitive, but I guess you can lower the values to 8 percent.

You don't notice any changes that are made by the utility, except for a working cockpit zoom :)

Any one who could guide me to solve the prob specifically for my x45 ?

I think the tool does not solve the problem. And if it does I dont know which values to set.

@FF:

I dont have a "z" (it is greyed out).

Therefore I have "slider" "rx" "rz" and "dial"

Any ideas?

Try setting the deadzone to 15, and something in the vicinity of 30 for the slider, if it won't work, try increasing the x and y deadzone (if wiggling your stick around helped, the increaded deadzone should help as well)

To try until it works, I was so lucky that it worked at the first try, but that was luck.

What I know, is that this is the only thing that actually solves the zoom "bug".

Dont think it is a Saitek specific problem. It is a BUG in FC, and I want it fixed! Because I payed for this piece of Software!!

If you ED guys still believe in a Saitek Specific problem, check out this thread.

yea this is not the joystick problem...its a FC bug. I even unplugged my joystick and zoomed with the mouse and I still got stuck in this close up view (only applies for the MiG-29). Is there any way to fix this?

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Same here. Unplugged the Joystick, even removed the key command (Numpad Entter) for "center zoom" but still the problem occurs.

BTW: KungFu, what Mainboard/Chipset do you have? And have you had another Saitek Joystick in use before?

I'm running on a dell laptop Inspiron 9300 with Pentium M 2 GHz. And yes i have tried another joystick (X-36F) and still had the same problem. Then i unplugged all the joystick and just simply pressed * and i got stuck in the close up zoom in the Mig. So i concluded this is not a joystick problem, it's a FC bug.

Sorry to drop in without reading your problems first, but, I had this problem in FC, unfortunately for me one of my memory banks went berzerk and messed up every Win XP install in about 20 minute. So after 3 days of "testing" (read agony) windows is now working without a glitch, and FC works as it should as well (no zoom problem).

So a reformat did the job for me, too bad I'll have to waste lots of time to get everything as it was.

I finally had time to check this out, and I don't have the zoom problem in the Mig. I use the * and / keys for my zoom on my joystick. I gave up on using an axis for zoom as it was way too twitchy.

strange i just reformat and reinstall and I still have this problem

I forgot to tell you all that that defective RAM stick messed up the register, which was funny, because even the boot CD wouldn't recognise my windows install :|

Anyways, try that deadzone program and set everything (especially the twist) at let's say 25 see how it works out, if it won't help, then, well, reformat and hope for the best

EDIT: oh, and download that Starforce uninstall uitility and run it before you reformat, it MAY help

The DeadZone Programme (if you mean the deadBander Utility..) does not work with x52. every axis is greyed out when i start the programme.
