I want to pack the terrain .bmp files in cdds format but the CDDS studio closes without showing any error. I have seen that CDDS studio packs only 24 bit texture, not sure though, but the textures for land are 32 bit. I don't know if this is the problem or what. Can anyone please help me on this.

Edited: Sorry!! I had that damn space in the name of the folder.

Either way, I still get an empty Error.log file and a TexToDDs.log file with this in it:

TexToDDs.exe -noise <Source Tga file> <Dest dds file> <alpha decrease by miplevel>
TexToDDs.exe <InDir> <extention> <OutDir>
TexToDDs.exe -complex <InDir> <extention> <CDDS FileName>
TexToDDs.exe -dump <CDDS FileName> <OutDir>
TexToDDs.exe -single FileName format mip outfilename
TexToDDs.exe -xml <Project FileName> <CDDS FileName>

...and no CDDS to be found.

BitMapps need to be 24bit TGA files can be 32 bit as in the tut by Cosmo

Where do you have the cdds studio program located?

it should be on your c drive root

How big is your file of textures that you want to compress in to CDDS?

how have you named your files?

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

All of my bitmaps are 24-bit, none are TGA. CDDS Studio is in the C:\ directory, no spaces in the name. Textures are in a directory below that, per Cosmo's tutorial. Half of the textures are 12mb each, the rest are 3. (2048x2048 and 1024x1024.) Each file is named something like "FA18C_rearfuse_1.bmp."

Essentially, I've hit every step of the CDDS_studio readme and Cosmo's tutorial, but somehow TexToDDSd.exe isn't being fed the right command line instructions. (I assume.) A friend of mine is able to compile a CDDS of my textures on his computer however!

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate.
