I made a free track for myself today. I want to know whether it takes time to learn with trackIR kind of a thing or is it that free track is a scrap? I really have problem keeping my head straight I mean on the HUD. I even did crash on ground because I wasn't able to know how much below the ground was. Can people using free track or track IR help me in this?

Its takes a while to get used to. I got a very sore neck to begin with when I first got trackIR, and it annoyed me that the HUD wasnt straight all the time. Just keep flying and it will be natural in no time.

I'm not sure how customisable Free Track is, but I assume the control program lets you adjust the curves? It can be helpful to lower (even to 0) the response multiplier for a few degrees around center so that when you're looking forward your view won't move at all with small head motions.

But yes, it does take a bit of getting used to.

Ya have been trying since 10hrs and it seems like I'm getting accustomed. I still have one more problem ever since I've started using free track my joystick stops responding some time like it just sticks for a few seconds and than its ok. So what can be the reason behind it? I have also set camera bandwidth in free track as 1 from auto. And I found that it happens only at low altitude like below 700mtr.

Edited: Sorry, I did assign a wrong axis to one free track which conflicted with joystick input.

FreeTrack must have been done to work properly. Also its configuration, diameters, clip size must be entered correctly (more less).

I use FT in Lo and Falcon. For me it suits well and I doubt I'll change it for expensive NP product where I have good already.

i'm using freetrack and i'm ok with it.

looking at videos about track ir it seems to me that trackir is a lot more stable, but it may be due to computer configuration.

at first use of freetrack nothing is really fine, so you have to tune it with trial and error.

i suggest you to increase sensitivity to yaw and pitch axis and leave others to 1.0 (maybe a bit on the Z axis to zoom in and out better).

then I had increased a lot the dead zone and smootheness of these axis because I'd experienced lot of noise in movements.

be sure to have properly set the dimensions of your device in freetrack program. It's very important! My device dimensions are not like those in the specifications, and at first nothing worked good. then i've put the real dimensions in the config program and everything worked good.

i can't think about other hints. if you have any other problem just tell and we can try to help.

oh, and yes it need a bit of time to get used to it.

My FreeFalcon 5.5

This has been made with almost well configured FT some time ago. I have crap computer so sometimes my CPU didn't have enough power to smoothly play game and use FT at once.

In Lock on FT works similar to FF 5.5.

They work good in Falcon and LO... try use them and adjust for yourself.

Use TrackIRFixer available on FreeTrack forum. Then it cracks your file and you will get working FT.

You don't need TIR software... All you have to do is:

1. Download FreeTrack

2. Download TrackIRFixer then "fix" your newinput.dll in LO or BS

3. Now you have fully working software.

The fixer was not working until I installed Track IR software. After I installed it, the fixer worked and now m getting 6DOF. Well, I've never seen back ob my plane that way.

It's odd cause I've never installed TIR software... only FreeTrack and Fixer oO and it worked.

You got it running fine right? That's what counts. I'm also a happy user of FreeTrack, I got mine built by a friend, the camera has IR-diodes so I use only passive reflectors on my hat, and with steady 30FPS interpolated to 120, it's smooth as silk. The only pain is setting up FT properly, but once you're done it works great...
