How to eject without pressing Ctrl and three times the E key?

Hi guys, that's my doubt, I include an ejection lever in my home made cockpit, but it must be pulled three times to work, because in the sim it's configured that way, so my question is, is there a way to make it work with only one key press?

Sure,

what I do so I dont have to push Ctrl+E+E+E three times when I want to eject is, I quickly stand up and kick my chair away from me and turn around and run and throw myself out/threw the window.

Anyway, to answer your question, why dont you change the eject sequence in the game key binds page to say just a single obscure key, say something from the numpad ?

I have eject to work with one button press using my joystick, so it is possible, but I am not sure if its possible from within the game key bind section ? but I would delete the default keybind for eject and then map a new sequence for it and see if that works.

If not you will maybe need to use some software to do it for you that is compatible with your lever.

Could also use a profiler for the cockpit to associate the Ctrl-E-E-E sequence to a single press, so that when you pull it sends the full sequence to the computer instead of a single Ctrl-E.

Hi, unfortunately I'm not using a saitek, but that method you showed looks really cool, and about the profiler for the cockpit, is that a software or a file from the game that needs to be modified?

Thanks guys

That would be a separate software product that you use to hook up your pit to your computer. The general idea would be that it emulates keyboard, so that when it detects you pulling the handle it sends the Ctrl-E-E-E signal to the computer as if you had pressed them on your keyboard. Whether this will work for you and which software would work for it (if any) would depend on what you have used to build your pit.

I'm not using nothing complicated for the pit, It's very simple, I use a racing wheel for the pit, it's just the ejection lever on the chair attached to a few wires, and when the ejection lever is pulled, the wires push a little lever on the racing wheel, that's all as simple as that.

About the software for the racing wheel, it doesn't have any option for programming macros like the saitek joysticks, and was searching for some gamepad utilities that could do this, but found nothing. :(

Looks like I found a free utility that could work, I'll test it tonight and see if it works :smilewink:

Hi guys, just a little bit later, but I'm here to tell you the results, and it works , it could be done with a free utility called HID macros, it detects the racing wheel when the lever was pressed, next step was to program the key combination, in the game it was changed from Ctrl + E to only the j key and in the utility, the key combination it's jjj, and after doing this everything was ready for a quick test.

A quick mission is started, then get enough altitude ... grab the ejection lever ... get ready for it ... pull the ejection lever ... and booooooom the canopy blows away, and you get ejected from the plane, wooooooow just like the movies, you almost feel like you are in a real plane .

By the way this utility not only detects additional gaming devices connected to the pc, but it can manage many usb keyboards, so you can have a more realistic home cockpit with many buttons, and this is the link to the utility http://hidmacros.medek.info/news.php

the only lack from HID macro are : lack of support for 64 bits, and no recognize or differenciation between left and right CTL ALT SHF.

you may also try to use Glovepie fopr more advanced programming with different interfaces, a new version is in development, and an update for 64 bits compatibility for PPJoy.exe is also on study. But not totally finished at the time. But older versions are cool if you are under 32 bits OS.

Hi, yes you are right, it doesn't work very well in 64 bits, and about ppjoy I've heard of it, but never used, anyway I'll read a little more about it, it sounds very interesting, thanks for the info

Cheers

If you happen to use a Saitek Joystick, try something like this:

eject.png

I programmed my X52 this way, so I need to hold a key for ~1/3 a sec to eject. Obviously if you reduce the delay and tick the first Macro box, you only need to press a button once.

Thanks for that! I accidently wiped out my profile the other month and been having problems getting my eject key to work. Sometimes it does sometimes (more often than not) it doesn't. I just realised it used to look like this in my editor, I don't think it does now. Will fix that.

Cheers.

Regards
