Well.. the 1st part was something.... you kept the SARH away by barrell rolling which we know you are a proponent of. But... you know... it looks better when you win the engagement, because it look like you lost the initiative and got raped close-in by ET's and 73.

Rip, I don't know why are you getting such results and even Etheran. I got the same result what I showed you. I even down loaded the track file from forum and used it, that too gave the same results.

I have two FC2 installed on my PC, one is plain, for online use, only with 3GO flanker , Walmis F-15 and Ricardo's cockpit mod and other for my personal offline use which is heavily moded and lots of thing reconfigured but I never use it for online presentation. I also have kept a third completely plain copy of FC2 in case my online copy got corrupted, which happened with me a few times.

I even deleted the install of FC2 which a I use for online purpose and replaced it with my plain copy but that too showed the same result I just don't know what to do. I saw the track 10 times but what I get is I survive and the Ukrainian flanker dies.

I have attached here a few screen shots of my PC to show what I have got.

My track file is 1.468MB than why does it show 1.43MB here on forum.

Barrel roll is for people who can't time the orthogonal roll.

It is for people who will find that further guidance updates and a more realistic aircraft control system will bite them ... it should work on certain missiles, but the modern ones are unlikely to have issues with that particular maneuver, for what might not be particularly obvious reason.

We had a lot about it before so I don't want to go along this time.

Most likely because there are several ways to count file size.

MB - MegaByte. This is a multiple of bytes that does NOT mean that one MegaByte is one million bytes. Crossref to KiloByte - 1024 bytes, NOT 1000 bytes.

MiB - MibiByte. This is simply a million bytes. KibiByte is 1000 bytes. Most people use the word "Megabyte" for what is actualy a MibiByte.

To add to the confusion, even your own computer will give you two different sizes for the same file: "File size" and "Size on disk". For your storage use the file size is relatively irrelevant - it's the amount of hard drive space that it uses that is relevant, and depending on the cluster size used in formatting the hard drive this can mean that a 1000 KB file actually takes 1024 KB of HDD space (never less, always more). This because each sector can only have one file in it, so if your file needs two and a half sectors it'll actually use three, and your computer is likely to reflect this. Unfortunately I don't remember which display method windows uses as a default.

There are performance benefits to having a sector size that best reflects your most common file size - if you have lots and lots of tiny sectors you'll need a bigger FAT and such things (I'm unsure if it affects seek times), but if your sectors are "too big" you could theoretically end up filling your disk even though you only use 100GB out of it's 1TB capacity.

I don't know how the forum and the server it runs on (as well as the backend d-base servers and file servers and so on) counts file size, but the odds of it being exactly the same as your computer are about on par with you experiencing a quantum tunneling event and finding yourself suddenly on the moon.

Yes there is something wrong with your file as im getting the same result as Riptide.

But what I did notice was that you didn't actually evade any R-27's, the AI turn away before they reached you, meaning they lost lock on you rather than your mind boggling rolls doing anything productive.

Also, it is probably part of the track error but I noticed an outrageous setting on your 'target range' at the bottom of the HUD of 150 when entering the engagement, surely not your doing? ;)

Ok I will make another track and post it tonight. By the way its not only AI that turn 180 I found 80% of people flying on online servers do that, and when I maintain lock and persuade them they have nothing to do but get their asses fried. Also AI did't turn 180 HUD shows that target is moving away even when a plane is diving and flips 180.

Hi I have not done much experimentation in FC2 as you guys...but online the Split-S works very well..because in the Su-27 you have only 4 R-27ER missiles which have very low pk against low flying targets while others carry 8 or 6 active missiles.I personally have had no luck with any other maneuvers to be honest also most servers have kill Messages on so this gives a huge advantage to F-15,Mig-29 who fire and turn away and wait for kill message to pop up.

This video I seen on You-Tube yesterday best describes what happens to me when I try any fancy moves to dodge missiles.

Theres no way to get arround it: either you stay undetected or fire first and hit first or your about to enter a head to head missile chicken run, whover kills who is then nothing more than a lottery.

Barrel rolls to try get arround this reality is cheap and unnifective (noobish) if you know how counter it. :)

And what if I'm there do a barrel and evade your missile, than will you have time and chance to fire back at me?

Here is another track that should work.

By the way, why are you all here so insular in your thinking? I didn't impose my idea on anyone neither did I ask anyone of you to do what I do. I have bought a copy of FC2 with my own money and will do whatever I like with it, without infringing the copyright act.

Easily. Not that you'll be ditching the FC2 120 online with a barrel roll unless your latency is really poor.

No one said anything about copyright, just about the promotion of tactics that should not, and eventually will not work.

Tactics can change fast as we saw to the transition to 2.0. If they work... then they work. We presume that FC2.0 will probably not get any sort of patch for a long time or ever, so any talk of "eventually will not work" is rather moot.

I don't do barrell rolling myself... but I do enjoy when someone starts trolling the 15ners and shows tracks... . For the record I am colour agnostic and fly all airframes with similar number of hours.

I think you should have your brain flushed because you read and understood very well what was written after comma which was just an additional statement. But you didn't get what was written before that comma and which was even important.

What I do is totally to my wish, and I take all the responsibility for that. I just gave my opinion to someone who asked for, there is nothing in that you jump in saying what is wrong and what is right. The person who asked for help will decide by himself what to do and what not. Even if he dislikes my opinion there is nothing wrong in that because that was just an opinion but what you are telling me is like imposing on me what you like or do and mind well, you don't have any right to do that and neither have I given you such right to say on how I act and nor did I ever asked an opinion here for what I should do.

Rather than cursing my ways you should have given your opinion to the person who asked for and this thread could have been more productive for him than what has become now.

I do not need your approval nor consent to say my piece. Be glad for it, because it applies to you also, insofar as in both cases it complies with forum rules.

I too fly all the jets but prefer Su-27 just because of its shear beauty and flight dynamics, and yes, F-15C with its Aim-120 is better but I just prefer my way, colors don't attract me either.
