Avilator Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Hello everyone. I recently decided that it was high time to patch my Black Shark to 1.0.2. So, I uninstalled all of my mods, uninstalled the software, and cleaned out any remaining files. I then re-installed 1.0, tested it, and it worked fine. My problem arose after I patched to 1.0.2. The 1.0.2 multiplayer works fine, but singleplayer does not. It produces an error about not finding a module. My install directory is C:\Eagle Dynamics. A DxDiag and a screenshot of the error are attached below. Any ideas?:helpsmilie:BSSP error.bmpDxDiag.txt I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! EtherealN Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Did you apply the 1.0.2 patch onto a clean install? Recommended proceedure is: Remove DCS:BS Install "vanilla" Apply patch Removing mods may still leave traces, even when using modman, that can confuse the patch software and "break" the install. Distiler Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Install both the sim and the patch as an administrator (right click both installers and run as an administrator) BTW, don't install 1.0.1, go from 1.0.0 to 1.0.2 directly. Avilator Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 Maybe I was a little unclear: I went straight from "vanilla" 1.0 to 1.0.2. Ran them both as admin. Distiler Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Check md5, perhaps the download was somewhat corrupted? 1.0.2 english patch md5 is fe95f4deb4cc7da10e2ce623192acb7a (google "md5 check" or something like that, gazilion apps for that) AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
Distiler Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) Wait a minute wait a minute... Looking at the screenshot you've provided, two last lines say C:\Eagle Dynamics\Patch\bin\x86... ¿"patch"? I think you installed the patch in the wrong folder or something went wrong with the patch installation. I tried to run the install straight to the folder where I have the 1.0 install. It just sat there "Backing up files" for the longest time. So I hit "next" and my task manager said it was not responding. Seeing this, I killed it. Next, I directed it to a folder called "patch" and it worked. I then copied all of the files/folders in there into C:\Eagle Dynamics. EDIT: the md5 matches the one you posted Edited August 8, 2010 by Avilator I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" Avilator Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 :doh:Yet another facepalm! I fixed it. The desktop shortcut was pointing to that folder "Patch" I made. I changed it to the correct place and it works! Thanks guys! I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" Distiler Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 For the record, don't kill the process, it works that way. It's so long that windows thinks it's nor responding, but given time it finishes properly. And, well, congrats :) AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
