Very few Serb SAM sites were hit. Yep, that's what SEAD means ... SUPRESS enemy air defenses ... on the other hand, it was not successful DEAD ( you know ... DESTROY) because the Serbs were saving their SAMs mostly to support their ground troops in the case of invasion (nscode, pipe in here) if I recall correctly.

 

In Iraq, F-117's were actively involved in cutting through the IADS and directly performing DEAD against some SAMs, again IIRC.

 

Now back on topic.

 

Are 100% sure of that? if I'm not mistaking they had to do sneak launches because f-16 where ready to launch harm missiles on them, if that is not true why was an f-16 and f-117 shoot down the way they where shoot down.
