Boberro Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Hey, I remember in 1.0 of BS Ka-50's Betty said her sentences loudly... I liked it. In 1.02 I have headphones volume on maximum and she is still too silent.... how to fix that? I want shouting Betty ;] Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... 104th_Crunch Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 It is not Headphones, that is for Radio communications. Turn up warnings and turn down every thing else. VOLUME. This controls the master volume of the audio settings and affects all channels equally. RADIO. Radio messages from wingmen, control tower, ground support, and radio stations have the volume of their transmissions controlled with this slider. ENGINES. This slider controls the engine volume from the engine(s). MECH. Aircraft mechanical devices such as landing gear, cockpit door, and APU have their mechanization volume controlled with this slider. EFFECTS. The sound volume for effects like explosions, weapon fire, and rain/thunder are controlled with this slider. WIND. When flying at fast speeds, the wind rushing over the canopy can create an audio affect that is controlled with this slider. WARNINGS. Audio warnings / cautions in the cockpit, like the master warning tone, can have their volume adjusted with this slider. IN-COCKPIT. This slider controls the volume levels of audio sources inside your cockpit. Examples include switches and fans. MUSIC. The volume of the music that is heard when in the menu screens is adjusted with this slider. GUI. The volume of the Graphics User Interface (GUI) devices, like button clicks, is controlled with this slider.
Boberro Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) Hmmm I don't have many sliders. Look: I set headphones and volume to maximum. World and cockpit to medium. Testing ;] With that settings - World and cockpit to medium and headphones and Master Volume to max betty is loud. But i can't hear flare deploys and overall wingman speaking is too loud now... I mean bug or what - after mission unpausing he speaks good but in a while his voice is louder - much more louder than before. If there were more sliders in 1.0 version, currently is 1.02 it is worse than before. Edited September 1, 2010 by Boberro Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... 104th_Crunch Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 LOL, neither do I!!! I notice that now. I simply did a copy and past of the DCS GUI manual. Looks like they copied from FC1, but then changed it. Try turning up cockpit sounds and turning down all else. This will get nagging Nadia back. 1
Boberro Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 I did. Didn't worked. I think I changed slider positions is so many times, I used all combinations. In 1.0 it was better IMHO in that aspect. I think I must manually improve loudness in OGG files :) Thx for efforts ;) Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HitchHikingFlatlander Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Used to be easier to tweak things to your liking with the old sound engine, although I like the new one better. Wish they could have left the sliders alone............ http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
sweinhart3 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 They tweaked everything in the new sound engine and attenuated everything because you would realistically be wearing headphones in the real deal. Problem is, imo, they tweaked it too much. You cant hear yourself getting hit by missles or guns, your own weapons are hard to hear, and generally all around it just doesnt sound as good because the clarity is gone. There are a couple settings you can play around with which improve this, but still not as good as prior to 1.02. The only thing I even like about the new sound engine is the better performance. Intel i7 990X, 6GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 470 x2 SLI, Win 7 x64 http://picasaweb.google.com/sweinhart
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I'm fine with the adjustments they made, just wish they gave me the options I used to have to adjust things to my preference. Realistic is all good when your in a REAL A/C but in my sims I like a little bit of Hollywood in the sound. I like hearing my engines, mechanical surfaces and cockpit/weapon noises to be heard. When you're own a cross country flight (RL) in say a 737 you can hear the jet wind down power to engines you can hear the flaps go down and the landing gear thud. You can also feel those sounds, which is why I like the Hollywood sound since it makes up for what you can't feel in the sim or your buttkicker system! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
