dooom Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I have just completed a MP sortie on the 104th. During my flight i had a CAC lock on an F15 and closed for guns solution. Unfortunately my guns reticle was jumping and warping all over the place and I could not line up the circles for solution. Is this a bug or a reflection of ecm jamming? I had never seen this before. :joystick: ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL
HiJack Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 A couple of beers and everything stabalizes nicly :P Seriosly, I've seen this also but thought it was supposed to be that way ;)
dooom Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 it was warping and jumping around REAL bad though... not a little.... Packet loss maybe? GGTharos Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Yes, packet loss. ECM might also do this, but that is not modeled in FC2. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
dooom Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 Yes, packet loss. ECM might also do this, but that is not modeled in FC2. shouldnt i expect that the plane i was targeting should have been jumping about as well? or is there a smoothing that goes on for aircraft to prevent this during packet loss?? 104th_Crunch Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Lag can be an issue, but I have noticed compared to FC1, the gun piper does not appear until closer in. I believe it is not as stable as well. Maybe changed for realism? Dooom, go guns against some AI singleplayer to see what might be different.
dooom Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 yeah - really jumping around on your server - i ran some ping/packet test and my line seems stable .. no probs single player ai. not sure... maybe a bad ISP routing to your server tonight??? It's just something that happens in MP play. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
104th_Crunch Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Smooth as silk for me tonight. Maybe lag just for you tonight. Maybe network code.
RIPTIDE Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Smooth as silk for me tonight. Maybe lag just for you tonight. Maybe network code. It varies TBH. Against another guy with low ping... fine. Other guys not so good. Choppers are the worst but I suspect this is by design. :music_whistling: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
