evilnate Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Greetings, I flew a MP mission last night with some buddies and we couldn't figure out how to play with the targeting pods. Any tips?

sobek Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Oh snap look at you! :megalol: The manual is where it's at. Or try the TGP training mission. As always, there are no cutsies :) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Stretch Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 C'mon guys ... don't be mean now ... Press the "TGP" OSB twice to make it the SOI. Then, use the slew hat to move the camera, and the DMS switch to zoom. Use the TMS switch to toggle between AREA and POINT modes. evilnate Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks Stretch. Sorry to pollute the forums with my annoying questions that could be found in the sea of 653 pages. Guess I relied on the producers notes from my last DCS purchase...

evilnate Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 What's so absurd about trying the TGP training mission? Known features that are not implemented / complete yet: - Training missions I didn't know the training missions were implemented, I'll give it a go after work today.
power5 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 There is lots of stuff in the manual. More than just the tgp info. You will need to know most of it. Part of the fun of these super detailed dcs sims is learning and reading the manual. If you just want to blow stuff up there is always game mode. :) :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Aaron i7 2600k@4.4ghz, GTX1060-6gb, 16gb DDR3, T16000m, Track IR5 BS2-A10C-UH1-FC3-M2000-F18C-A4E-F14B-BF109

Whatever... thanks again for all the wonderful help
Scabbers Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 when you assume!!!!!! do the math for the rest! Now where is that speed brakes control again? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
power5 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Was just giving you a hard time. In good fun. I understand your excitement in wanting to get the hog airborne though. Reading the manual and understanding the systems may provide more fun though. They did write the 650+ page manual for good reason though. The sim is supposed to be that detailed. Squid_DK Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 It is actually covered in fair albeit trimmed detail in the quick start guide, which is just 19 pages so no excuses, I have that printed out and lying here for when some simple stuff is required, I'm still gathering the courage to start on the section covering the CDU and navigation in the manual.
