I flew a MP mission last night with some buddies and we couldn't figure out how to play with the targeting pods. Any tips?

The manual is where it's at. Or try the TGP training mission. As always, there are no cutsies :)

C'mon guys ... don't be mean now ...

 

Press the "TGP" OSB twice to make it the SOI. Then, use the slew hat to move the camera, and the DMS switch to zoom. Use the TMS switch to toggle between AREA and POINT modes.

I didn't know the training missions were implemented, I'll give it a go after work today.

There is lots of stuff in the manual. More than just the tgp info. You will need to know most of it. Part of the fun of these super detailed dcs sims is learning and reading the manual. If you just want to blow stuff up there is always game mode. :) :P

I ask a question about how to use TGP and that translates into me being a HAWX newbie just wanting to blow stuff up? Whatever... thanks again for all the wonderful help :thumbup:

Was just giving you a hard time. In good fun. I understand your excitement in wanting to get the hog airborne though. Reading the manual and understanding the systems may provide more fun though. They did write the 650+ page manual for good reason though. The sim is supposed to be that detailed.

It is actually covered in fair albeit trimmed detail in the quick start guide, which is just 19 pages so no excuses, I have that printed out and lying here for when some simple stuff is required, I'm still gathering the courage to start on the section covering the CDU and navigation in the manual.
