Prophet Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 So I got a new router, setting up port forwarding and all that. I have port 10308 set for my IP that I have reserved in the DHCP pool. Yet I see absolutely no servers. Is my router setup screwed, or is there really no servers? 1
104th_Crunch Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Port forwarding sets you up to host so others can see you. You don't need to open it to see other servers. Make sure you have the latest patch is all I can think.
ED Team Groove Posted October 8, 2010 ED Team Posted October 8, 2010 Which router have you bought? Additionally try turning off the routers firewall just to check if it's the issue. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
RIPTIDE Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 So I got a new router, setting up port forwarding and all that. I have port 10308 set for my IP that I have reserved in the DHCP pool. Yet I see absolutely no servers. Is my router setup screwed, or is there really no servers? No special requirements for port forward are needed to see the server list. However... there has been times that the master server fails to list them. Only worry about port forwarding for hosting. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Panzertard Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Rip is correct, port forwarding is for hosting only. If you have a router that supports NAT thats the only consideration you need to consider. In most cases this is correctly configured out of the box if you run some sort of wizard when you set it up. If not, take a few screenshots of the router config, and we can guide you in the right direction. Just be sure to mask any private info in the screenshots. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
